What throws your credibility in the toilet, Lion, and chucks all of your constructive criticism with it is that you're a self-imposed victim of selective data syndrome. Even in this weak season, he's earned 6 Man-of-the-Match nods and is up there among the most this season... and more weighted towards his CL performances.

So whenever you have something critical to say about Marchisio, it's tainted because you only look at the player with shit-colored glasses. Objectivity is tossed out the window, discounting what should otherwise be good comments on occasion.

Anybody can select the data to fit their hypothesis. That's how we got fake cold fusion a couple decades ago.

The saddest part is that this perpetuates the pro- vs. anti- whining on these forums where everyone puts blinders on and likes to throw grenades at each other. The truth becomes the first casualty. Because for every over-exuberant ass-kisser or hate-flamer, it encourages the neutrals to retrench and take the opposite side just out of spite.

If he will continue his ghost perfomances then sooner or later Pogba will bench him, probably somebody else if we will sign another CM in the mercato, it's obvious that Claudio is underperfoming, just look at his numbers - it's average

What's make me sick is that we are not verstile anymore, we have such a good bench and yet we are playing with the same formation game after game because Conte is scared to drop Bonucci or even Pirlo to try something new, even against low-table teams

True. We've become as static as we escaped from last season.
Agreed. I've been waiting for him all season to ease up and try to stir things at least a bit with a 3-4-3 formation or even going back to 4-3-3 especially when losing in an on-going game and in that first two months of the year where the squad was going through it's 'period'.

Hell, I was shocked he didn't go for it against Bayern in the 2nd leg when we were down by a goal at halftime and 3-0 on agg. Makes him look narrow minded.

I have praised marchisio when he has played well.if actually paid attention to many of my posts past season you would see. who has the tainted googles on? Its not my issue if you selectively target some of posts or part of my posts for criticism.

Also, saying he was mom 6 times means nothing really, considering how unspectacular our players are as individual performers. All would agteee we play much worse than we did last season, despite still grininding results.Aside from vidal, none of the players individual performances are of any spectacular note in terms of overall impact. Funny you mention cl, yest fail to mention how bad he was againt nord, shaktar and bayern. Ot do you think beating showing up againt almighty celtic warrants universal applause?

My gripe has always been with how there is always and excuuse as to why he doesnt play well. I guess I can add "but he has 6 mom performances" to the list.

It's about balance. I don't see much from you is all. It's usually this:

* Marchisio has a bad game = he sucks, sell him
* Marchisio has an OK game = he sucks, sell him
* Marchisio has a good game = *crickets*
