There's nothing he offers more than Pogba. Absolutely nothing.
Positional ability, doesn't lose the ball as often, defensive awareness.

I like Pogba but Marchisio still shades him in these departments.

I think Pogba will be a far better player and will learn these, but for now I would trust Marchisio more.

It's obvious that this is not his position! But I think at the moment he has to play there!
First he was bad MC because he can't play there in 4-4-2. Then he was bad in 4-4-2 as a winger. People said he's great behind the striker but 'obviously' he can't play there as well.

Marchisio plays safe but he also never threatens with through balls or something, he can't carry midfield. There are also plenty of matches where Marchisio disappears for the whole match while with Pogba that's never the case. Defensive awareness? Pogba is much better at tackling.

Really do not agree

I prefer him to Pogba for now.
Don't mind Lion -- he's a broken record with nothing new to add any week, and he's switched off to any future powers of observation to add anything new or insightful ever again on Marchisio.

Basically, just a wordier version of the ol' "Fuck Giovinco".

I agree with you on that one, but he doesn't really need to in our formation.

Pogba disappears in plenty of games too.

I would say both are similar at tackling although Pogba is better at the spectacular slides, but that is not really awareness. Awareness is being alert and disciplined to other players.

Marchisio is better at the things that come with experience and for that reason I would prefer him in our midfield at present.

Either way they are two very good players and I am delighted to have them.

how is awareness a good thing if you dont do anything to use it?

all of us here are aware of children starving, yet we dont do anything to stop it. in essence us being aware makes no difference or impact on the matter

marchshio being aware doesnt stop him from being crap

It's not about the passes. He had almost 0 impact on the game, looked disinterested and lethargic. With the exception of a brief 10-15 minute spell, where he and Vucinic linked up, he wasn't really doing much. The same applies to Vucinic.
