I think the reason most aren't really ripping on him is because he made a couple of 'high profile' runs. Even without those he had a really good game. The way he spreads the ball is exceptional. I love the fact that he doesn't really hog the ball much these days, instead keeps the game flowing. That's very important for the type of game we play.

Oh, I know.

Point is that he had many dozens of these performances over the last (2) seasons, but they weren't rated back then, probably because they weren't of much use considering our general play at the time. No need to convince me of his importance to the team / our play.

His invisible performances were not the same as these good ones. He used to make nothing passes or not find the ball at all, now what he does on the field has some purpose behind it and he is more effective. His skill on the ball has improved as well and he's become more physical. In saying that he did have a few poor performances this season where he was invisible but he's performing well more often and performing poorly less often so you have to give him credit.
