It is now crystal clear that the only formation he functions well in is a 4-3-3

Just for the record, he made 0 tackles, 0 interceptions, 0 blocked shots and 1 clearance. The only thing he seemed to be doing right was passing, especially long balls. Didn't have a single shot on goal, and never put any player in a goal scoring opportunity. No wonder it was he who was taken off rather than Padoin for Caceres. Clearly, someone was not doing his job well.

Basically any formation that lets him break forward around the box, because he's decent at a lot of things but that is the only thing he is really good at.
