Funny how people have changed there minds on Marchisio. Personally ive always liked the guy, always had potential waiting to come out! I hope this continues for years to come. With Del Pieros last season, Juve need a new hero and hes just the man for the job!
I don't think it's fair to bash anyone who was against Marchisio back then. It was not as if he was our most brilliant player for the past seasons (no one really was), those who worshipped him because he was our youth product etc with those performances then were deluded. Take nothing away from Marchi this season he's one of our most instrumental players but you can't deny he never really shone on the left as he was deployed in the past and the 3 man midfield he's in now truly compliments and fits him perfectly and thus he's able to show what he's made of. Doesn't mean there's a "no/yes" with Marchisio.

I think it's perfectly reasonable and visible to see his talent but honestly I cannot help but feel some put him wayyy above than what his performances were showing in the past seasons. He wasn't abysmal, but not as outstanding as some claimed him to be in the past.

I like how you soften the bashing of Marchisio of the past to 'against Marchisio' and going over the moon by calling what people who supported him did as 'worship'.
I feel happy to let this topic go but then this post came. But whatever.
He tends to play a little more forward than Paro. I've held off rating this guy for a bit, but after his display against Lecce he really caught my attention. I haven't seen today's Genoa match (yet!), but from what I head/read, it sounds like he had a real impact. Definitely one of the young players on this squad that I am very interested in...
But gloating one way in an opposite Casper way isn't exactly fair either. He's going to have some tough matches and real challenging moments ahead like even the best players have.
This is the bewildering part. As much as I have been a fan of the guy, I've always considered his famed goal-scoring more of a Van Gogh-like effort: what he lacks in technique and finesse he makes up for in mad will to push the ball into the net. Clumsy at times, but a force of will.
But lately, he's scored some sweet goals that are honestly hallmarks of great technique. It's no longer about him just willing the ball into the net with his drive.
You do know that Van Ghog actually had pretty good technique, it's just he decided to go down the path he did because he found impressionism more appealing.
