Are you referring to the Casper jokes? It's Juventuz, one should not expect anything different about those sort of jokes.
Exactly my point. Hence, it very often was not based on performances.

Last season Melo was a better player than Marchisio was for us. Now it's a different story since he finally improved his game.
A popular opinion shared by most people on this forum. Funnily enough not shared by the media / analysts / outside of Juventuz.

And I personally don't agree with it either. For me, Melo & Marchisio had a pretty similar season performance wise. Overall they were more or less equally "good".

Which was not that good at all.

Casper jokes were being made because he was almost invisible in some games. It got to a point where the joke was exaggerated a lot, as almost always is the case in here, even by me, but it still remains a fact that Marchisio was very average in the last couple of seasons.

Ah, "popular opinion". I like how you put it. :) I guess sometimes you need to evaluate a player's performance not by just stats, Buck. You of all should understand that.

For the past 2 seasons I don't think we even had one player that was good overall. Imo, they all ranged from dreadful (for example: Motta & Bonucci last year, Melo in his 1st season, ...) to average.

Well, if an opinion is shared by most members here, it is the popular opinion, right? Not much I can do about that :D

And I'll evaluate players based on how I watch games & on what I think is important. Purely personal, stats are interesting but nothing more.

Edit: I think we more or less "rate" Marchisio's last season the same: completely average. Only difference would be how we both perceive Melo's season. Which was completely average for me as well, but probably not for you/others.

I'm honestly not, Asif. I just really dislike certain people's attitude in here.

Am I supposed to go in Vidal's thread and question Ahmed's posts because Vidal is proving to be a vital player for us? No. At least the criticism Marchisio got in the past years was for his actual performances, not on personal biased opinions.
Not really. There were games where he was probably our best midfielder and still people thought he was 'invisible'. A lot of it was unwarranted and unnecessary. But then this is Juventuz and it's to be expected. Anyways, I was just pulling your leg. Not really interested in the 'war'. Even though I do enjoy him proving his 'doubters' wrong. I'm probably a fanboy :D. (Me and Buck share the same opinion when it comes to Marchisio, like other things we share :klin: :p)

calling him casper was totally justified for nearly 2.5 years, because he was playing that bad.

since conte transformed him this season, he is a new player.

he redeemed himself.
doesnt mean we should erase history
