Thats exactly what I think as well.

They might get away with it against Estonia, but against better teams they would definitely need a Palombo/Nocerino type of player to provide a bit of muscle in the middle of the field.

Marchisio commits to Juve

Claudio Marchisio has dismissed suggestions that he could be sacrificed by Juventus this summer.

Although the midfielder recently extended his contract until June 2016, there have been suggestions that he may be sold.

Juventus seem to be rebuilding their midfield having already signed Andrea Pirlo, as well as making moves for Michele Pazienza of Napoli and Udinese’s Gokhan Inler.

That led to speculation that players would have to be shipped out in order to make room for the expected new faces.

“A top player is on the way? I hope two arrive,” the Italian international told La Gazzetta dello Sport.

“One thing is for certain and that is that I will remain a Bianconero. Turin is my home, I have just extended my contract and I’m not thinking about leaving.

“At certain levels, nobody can start a season by considering themselves a certain starter. You have to earn your place on the pitch by sweating for it. I’ve always done that since being at this club.”

Marchisio is currently on international duty and will start in Italy’s game tonight against Estonia alongside Pirlo, his new club colleague.

“I’ve had a laugh with Andrea over the past few days,” he added. “We’ll form a great central midfield partnership, I’m sure.”

Back to Marchisio...I'd love to see this next year in a 433...Inler-Pirlo-Marchisio...though, we would be good at passing, Inler/Marchisio would have to step up their tenacity a lot.

Marchisio will be better this year due to many reasons.
But its too early to estimate if he is going to be a starter or not.
We have yet to see our new system and we cannot appreciate just yet how well he can fit into it, despite his great versatility.
Another important aspect will be competition, he can easily be a starter ahead of off form Pirlo and unisignificant Pazienza imo,
prolly ahead of Aquilani as well, if Melo really leaves, his chances multiply, but an Inler like of player, may bench him.

Agreed he has the potential to be good for us and if not he is a worthy back up for the long term.
