This is what he said:
"In un momento così difficile e delicato siete sempre molto importanti per me"
"At such a difficult and delicate time you are always very important to me"

Why does this mean anything more than his disappointment as a fan and player?

Marchisio is best in the final third. He did begin his career as a trequartista
:confused2

In what sort of capacity? The has scored a couple good goals over the years, but what does he add around the box? He isn't creative, he doesn't run at players, I mean what does he do?

We'll regret selling this guy.
If someone like Pazienza is his replacement, probably. But if it's Inler, probably not.

Look, if Marchisio left it all out on the pitch and you could see his anger in his face, I'd respect the guy more. But he doesn't show any grit or passion at all. He just goes out on the pitch and does his job, then comes off.

Players like Marchisio should be fucking PISSED and leaving everything on the pitch all the time.

Please, Andy. That's his face. You can't see such extreme facial expressions on Pirlo's face either, does this make him any less good player?

Dusan can't smile and Valdes can't shut his mouth even if his life depends on it, it doesn't mean shit :D

It's not just about his facial expressions. Look at how he plays. At times it looks as if he doesn't give a shit. For a supposed Bandiera, it's not acceptable.

If Marchisio wants to do anything here he had better work hard because he doesn't have the talent to just nancy around.

dont care if we'll regret selling him..but juventus is not marchisio...we must think of whats best for the club and its millions of fans...marchisio im sorry but my midfield can be much better with someone more effective than you in it...u can turn out to be great or not we can only go on what we are seeing now...no use waiting hoping that u 'come good'...we got matches to win and big tourneys to qualify and scudetto to take back...sit on the bench for a while we should be getting some nice comfy seats in the new stadium...if u earn ur place i want it to be because u stepped up a few class levels and not because our cm is shit or injured...

Passion is the most overused word in football, I hear it all the time from English fans in respect to players and managers. Different people react in different ways. Does Buffon walking off smiling when he greets opposition players make him less of a player? What about Del Piero when he just walks off after a loss, he doesn't show any passion?

What I saw a lot of in our players after games this season was resignation, that was all of them not just ones we want to pick on. When the loser mentality is lifted we'll see better from all, but you take the rough with the smooth, can't just focus on extremes.

To answer your other question he is most dangerous making late runs into the box, but he's rarely there because he is off playing a restrictive left midfield role, or playing the water carrier role in the centre. The answer I don't have is where the guy can actually play in a modern system to make the most of his abilities. In a 5 man midfield as the offensive LCM or point in the 4-3-3? He doesn't have a shot like Scholes or Gerrard or the passing to play deeper but does link well with forwards. Not that this is the real challenge, the challenge is to create a strong Juventus before a strong Marchisio, the rest normally follows, but he either fits in or he doesn't.

I see. I know very little about tactics and formations but to me, it seemed that the reason why Marchisio was kind of lost in the middle of the pitch in a fair number of our games was mostly the chaotic and disorganized way of our play. He was much better under Ranieri and in the games when the team was naturally organized due to be super motivated like the games against Inter. I agree that he is still nowhere near what we expected him to be but I can safely say that these "Juventuz next captain" or "the homegrown talent" stuff are not why many fans are still reluctant to give up on him. It's got mostly to do with the fact that he has already shown signs of becoming a very good player for us if coached and trained under the right guidance.

passion has many outlets, you either run your heart out regardless of where you're played(even if its not your natural position) or show some disdain to losing, he doesnt show either. He should stay because he clearly is a juventino but that doesnt mean he can or should be relied on as an impact player.

I agree with this and Andy in the post that followed, I expect him to be more of an energy player, especially in this shirt. I remarked on it the other day, I don't know whether it is a mental or physical problem or because he is not playing in a role(s) he likes. He did have some good games in the second half of the year but they were mostly in CM, like Roma for example. Seems that his performances go hand in hand with that of the team, whether that is an actuality or something we pick up on as fans. It's not exactly uncommon for every player thread to be smashed after a defeat.
