Of course. I said "ugly" because a large majority of this place don't appreciate someone those characteristics in a footballer.

But yeah, sure, on top of that look at this. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OR1v-4kcmBQ http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=n3fb...ted, distance covered). Would be interesting.

No one can say what goes on in the lockerroom. We can only judge by what happens on the field and if you use that standard then I can't see how you can put Marchisio ahead of Chiellini in terms of "leadership".

I feel as if ALC said exactly what I was thinking here, not much can be done about his body because Chiellini is built like a wall. He's rarely substituted because he shows a great deal of consistency, and he doesn't get tired easily. I'd like to know if there is a site which does player specific analysis on each match (passes completed, distance covered). Would be interesting.
thanks for confirming my suspicion ;)

and yes, spot on with everything.

Excuse me but what has Marchisio done out left? He doesn't score, he doesn't get down the flank to cross in, he doesn't playmake... so what does he do?

He can defend, but who cares? This is just an extension of the cautious left-wing approach, almost like a left-wing lock in ice hockey but not as successful.

If we had a left-back like Zambrotta who is an offensive threat, I'd be OK with Marchisio out there from time to time. But this is getting ridiculous.

The issue can only really be solved when good fullbacks are bought.

Until that happens, there is always going to be the question of whether to use a real winger, and maybe leave the fullback exposed, or use a midfielder, and limit the team's attacking effectiveness on that flank.

Marchisio is not really any good in the CM either if I'm honest

Sure he defends well and rarely loses the ball

But he is too standard - he provides nothing for our passing game unlike Aquilani who plays smart balls that can open defences at times - sadly Marchisio just can't do this -

Marchisio - plays hard, runs hard, but doesn't have the "touch" in CM.

Im still waiting for an answer to my question. Not silly remarks.

But I guess those silly remarks answer the fucking question, doesn't it?

Thought so.

Eh, you know where I stand in this. We could field three DM's, one of which is Sissoko, and we'll still concede.

you're the one making it sounds like he is playing poorly because he doesn't fit in to your image of a left winger.

Forget the left wing - he's meant to be a CM - even as a CM he doesn't provide much in attack. Just simple safe passes
simple safe passes like the assist to Iaquinta vs Roma?
