He ran A LOT, I lost count of his unpicked runs and the number of times he covered other player's position in the mid. He was running like mad when Barza made that fantastic tackle on Genoa's counter; suprised that no one realized that it was started from the corner kick he took himself while he was the one who got the loose ball first when it broke down near the edge of the box.

The haircut or him? I'd agree on both :D

Didn't get why he was stuck to the left side right behind DC. Generally he plays slightly more in the center. Didn't help that Pogba didn't have a good game (apart from that pass to Marchisio which was boss)/
Also Vidal moved a bit to the right. Leaving Pogba completely alone.

The whole midfield was poor.

But I don't think it was down to individual performances, we're just so burned out there with our and the opposition's tactics.

:agree: His covering was great.

Thought he was okay in the first half, some good some bad. Did not notice him in the second.

Oh, I forgot to mention his indirect FKs tonight were superb.
In the absence of Gio and Pirlo, Marchisio and (surprise, surprise) Giaccherini have been putting in decent freekicks and corners. Probably because they stick to the basics and not try things like the short corner bullshit.
