please don't use marchisio as trequartista, because if he is put on that position he will get marked out of the game by the opponent.

its much more difficult for the opponent to watch marchisio if he plays in a centre midfield role equal to other midfielders and let him now and then act as trequartista instead of making it too obvious that he should be the first part of the attacking play and thus get marked... if claudio plays next to de rossi and pirlo in a flat midfield (which wont happen), then the opponent would surely not mark marchisio one-on-one because the other two had more space then, but if he is put further up the pitch they will shut him down even more easily than opponents did with diego

italy using 4-2-3-1....Iaquinta on the right flank , di natale left, marchisio in the middle as trequarista and Gilardino as a lone striker....why juve can't adapt this 4-2-3-1. its gonna be massive

I have my reservations about Marchisio as the trequartista, with my belief that he plays best as a box-to-box midfielder like Lampard or Gerrard (before he was used as a seconda punta by Benitez). But if he does well in that role under Lippi, maybe this could be something great for Juve.

He will shine at the wc. I'm sure about it:tup:
Yup, I think this wc could be the breakthrough for him to show his qualities.

I don't speak Italian, but I understand a bit since my mother language is Spanish, and found this video when Lippi is saying just what we are discussing. Wow! Marchisio getting total respect in the National Team, can't wait to see the games.

And regarding Chiellini as a left back, I guess it is not a bad idea when facing players like Messi, Robben, Walcot, Iniesta, Robinho, etc. to have a defensive wall securing the left flank. Do not ask for much on the attack, but keep in mind that DiNatale will make up for more than enough on the ball control department on that side of the field.
