Youre wrong. Son had 2 or 3 chances to score in the first half. We could have been down 2-1 at half time. Obviously a penalty on Costa though. I think we looked clueless for 70 minutes today. Just as we did last tie. It's not because we don't have the players, nor a bad coach, but I honestly believe Allegri got it all wrong for for YET AGAIN starting Barzagli at RB and not a player who can go forward.

I say it again, Tottenham create a ton of chances! Their shit defense cost them the victory. Two mistakes allowed our class players to score and luckily for us they were clinical on the day.

I don't believe in this kind of football. We can't rely on getting just 2 chances in a game and expect the players to be clinical as they were today. I would expect Dybala or Higuain to score every third chance. Not evey single chance they get!
These tactics are not sustainable eventually it bites us in the ass against strong opposition

We still need a change of tactics at least a counter attack will make us dangerous

Spurs are not anything special. They don't play a single ball out from the back. They smash everything to Kane and win the 2nd ball. Somehow Allegri chose this tie to scrap a CDM that would sit on Kane and win that ball.

Their front 4 have no organization after they attack and the CDMs are heavily relied upon to counter press.

The backline is a bit of a joke. It's such a high line and the fullbacks couldn't stay in line with the CBs if there was a rope attached to them.

They smashed us because we have 2 strikers and neither provide a target so Spurs can go full retard press and we were helpless. Any time we actually got it to Higuain's feet, we looked like we would score ffs. :howler:
Imagine this game with Bonucci, and Costa+Quads baby down the flanks, matuidi and pjanic centre, and à fresh rightback

We would have destroyed

They have quality, no doubt. Their individual quality is underrated in fact.

I just don't think they would have played through our usual 4-5-1. And I think we just made it harder on ourselves. FFS, we scored 4 goals, missed a pen and had another 100% pen and we barely had the ball in 180 minutes.

I think they were setup to be beat 2-0 or 3-1 on aggregate and we just simply made it harder by playing exactly into their strengths.

When you play a high line like them and the fullbacks have no understanding with the CBs, you are not a serious team IMO.

Hey! Don't put me in the same bag as those two!
No way man, my bad if it seemed like that, i wasn't meaning it in that 'bashing all that is Juventus' sense  , i was just saying regarding the pessimism during the live thread tonight. :D

Fino ala fine! :theflag:

On topic: As @Maddy said, the morale boost from this game shouldn't be underestimated either, for the first time in this UCL season luck was on our side for a change, hopefully we can build on this and improve even further, tho injuries again will play a huge factor in our development from here on, the lesser the better.

Didn't think we had much of a chance even after first goal. Till then, they targeted our weakness, packed the midfield, and outran and outmuscled us to every ball.

After the second, it was a familiar sight. Same old defensive organization and body language with our players gritting their teeth and not giving an inch away. Knew we were through.

It was Dybala indeed who beat their high line. And we were finally able to go around them and spread them with Licht coming on and overlapping.

A 36 yo CB marking wingers and playing as RB makes no sense.

DC and Chiellini: . And half-fit Pipita and Dybala did their job.

Strong cope mechanism :D

Edit: I was actually hoping we would get up after Spurs scored. This Juve needs a wake up call sometimes.

that ref, though. that penalty not given for the obvious foul on costa, and that offside that resulted in kane's header going onto the post, either of them could have cost us the tie.
