We don't need tackles and duels won when we need to score fucking goals and win a match

His game is suited to closing out matches and disrupting the play but if we want to actually beat Tottenham we need more than defensive grit on the wing

I'm happy he is not starting for us on the wing, we play worse with him there so for me it's a positive

I would have no problem him coming onto the wing as a sub but not a starter
ok, sorry, but i have to ask, do you even follow juventus matches at all? do you have any idea what keeps mandzukic in the starting lineup? is it allegri being an incompetent retard, or maybe is mandzukic the solution to an issue we're still facing since vidal left the club?

we need mandzukic to perform those tackles, because - especially in matuidi's absence - nobody else would do that. simple as that. mandzukic is an unusual solution to a common problem: we need possession to keep the opponent away from goal, and to score. and since there's no vidal, no marchisio (at least not in the physical shape he needed to be in), sturaro would be easily the weakest link on most occasions, and allegri still needs someone to take the ball away from the opposition, we have mario to work his ass off for the team. mandzukic is a defensive winger, something that is not common in today's football, but we've seen that in mourinho's inda with eto'o.

i wonder how our possession play will work without mandzukic tonight.

“When I was a player we came back from a 2-2 against Monaco, everyone said we were already out and were talking about Marcello Lippi coming in for Carlo Ancelotti and then we won the Champions League.

“Juventus are a great team, and Allegri will never die of stress, he’s the best Italian Coach out there right now and I think he’ll play a great game tonight.”

I don't doubt he's a good player and does a decent job on the wing and puts a shift in

However we will never ever win a CL with Mandzukic starting as a winger, he doesn't have the characteristics to be a winger naturally and is just an extra LB in that position

I'll say it again, only at Juve would a player like Mandzukic be a starting winger in a competition like the CL

he scored a fucking overhead kick goal in a cl final against real madrid, while his teammates like dani alves, khedira, dybala or bonucci made a fool of themselves. we don't have the strongest squad in europe, and mandzukic is not among our weakest players, he fits the team, allegri's plan and our ambitions (@lgorTudor) perfectly, so i have no idea why you're bashing him. juve has a history with real fighters. i can still recall some of our less talented players with a lot of grinta: tacchinardi, torricelli, montero, even conte, all of them are legends... mandzukic is the workhorse we've always had in successful teams, with a twist: he's a winger, not a defender or a defensive midfielder.

also, about his abilities in front of goal: he has 7 goals and 3 assists this season, so he's our 3rd most prolific goal scorer. and more importantly, 4 of those goals were opening goals for the team, and an other one was a match winner. and he's not even in form this season, constantly struggling with some minor muscular issues.

my impression is that in case everyone is available, allegri would never leave the following players on the bench: pjanic, higuain, chiellini and mandzukic. and rightly so.

but whatever...
