at the form Mandžukič has been in almost all season, not having to see him start is a relief. not having any attacking threat on the bench whatsoever is very bad though, especially considering Higuain and Dybala are both coming back from setbacks, we might loose one of them again tonight.

It's incredible that you continue posting dumber and dumber stuff. We have three attacking options [and a half in Sandro] and we need to score away against Spurs, and yet you prefer Mandzu injured.

Poor comprehension meets emotional reasoning = utter nonsense.
I did say if there was an option to not have him starting as a winger but to be able to come on later that I would prefer that

I think we play better without him on the wing so yes I am somewhat relieved to see him not playing today

We won't go anywhere with Mandzukic starting on the wing against Tottenham

He is a second LB when playing there I see no reason for him to start for a club like Juventus on the wing if we want to actually beat Tottenham
yes, right. the first leg was decided by lucky (or rather unlucky) episodes. if higuain (not mandzukic) scored from the penalty spot and buffon (not mandzukic) managed to keep out a shot that buffon must save, the first leg might have been a comfortable 3-1 victory for us. yet, you're bashing the player who won the most duels and most tackles for juventus - not khedira, who did next to nothing, and not even buffon, who's an absolute legend of the sport, but way beyond his prime, and was easily one of our worst performers on that night.

We don't need tackles and duels won when we need to score fucking goals and win a match

His game is suited to closing out matches and disrupting the play but if we want to actually beat Tottenham we need more than defensive grit on the wing

I'm happy he is not starting for us on the wing, we play worse with him there so for me it's a positive

I would have no problem him coming onto the wing as a sub but not a starter

You are right. They are irrelevant, if you need to score a goal :lol:

@Dantes

First leg, poch surprised us by starting lamela over son and hence having more in the midfield, reckon any surprises this time?
I don't think so.

I'd imagine the standard 4-2-3-1.

Son was subbed out early at the weekend so probably starts. Lamela can come on if we need to defend a lead or Moura if we need to push for a goal. Perhaps the only question is whether we go for Rose or Davies at LB. If Rose is fully fit I think he gets the nod for his pace. Trippier will be RB as Aurier is suspended.

The pre-match chat won't be bravado. Spurs will play like the home side and they will be looking to put this game to bed as early as possible. 0-0 at 80 mins would be bad. It'll be a high defensive line and our forwards will press. The best way for us to lose this is to suddenly start playing in a different way.

It'll be business as usual tactics wise. I would be very surprised if Poch does anything unusual or 'clever' for this game. Spurs will want to encourage Juve to come at us to open up the lines between midfield and defence, and to do that we need to be scoring first.

That Dortmund was a pretty weakass team struggling in BL that season

We're facing a totally different scenario here especially with all the injuries
Dortmund were in the relegation zone in the first part of the season due to tons of injuries. By the time they faced Juve they were full strength and in good form. Even after a disastrous start to their season, they finished in the top 4.

:lol: Same.

I'd take the early lead if i was a fan of any other club but Juventus.

Best thing that could happen tonight is an ugly game with no clear cut chances, whit Pjanic out of nowhere pulling some individual brilliance, smashing in a freekick in minute 90+3.

Nope they finished 7th that season and Klopp resigned once the season finished. Common you gotta be kidding if you think that struggling Dortmund team is anywhere as good as Spurs. Look at Tottenham's last 5-6 games' results and it speaks volumes of just how strong they can be against big teams.
Don't get me wrong , of course we can beat them and we have the personnel to do so but I just think momentum is on Spurs' side atm. People are underrating them because they aren't a big name EPL team. No wonder even Allegri has heaped praises on them.

Another Lazio game would be to good to be true.

If we do win, then I'll apologise on this thread. But I've seen it too many times when facing EPL in the knockout stages.

@enzo
