Make no mistake about this it was a very bad performance though we won and that is very good as we can now win away

Luckily we were playing against a player i regard as 1 of the worst I have ever seen in Geovanni

I do apologise for all the Greeks on here but your players were bothering on cheating with the constant diving and intimidating of the referee

Buffon 5 not one of his better nights as he looked shaky thruout and apart from an instinctive save with his foot on the the post , his kick outs were poor

Thuram 4 in keeping with his poor season , he was terrible tonight

Montero 7 was a hero as he played his heart out and was very fundamental to our not losing

Leggrotallie 8 he was a tower of strength as he was at the heart of every block and saves

Zambrotta 6 was not too bad but was not too good, was not helped by the fact that ppl ahead of him were not very helpful

Tacchinardi 6 did some good things and some silly things, gave the ball away but did keep some calm at times

Davids 6.5 after a poor first half was very good in the second as he gave everything best midfielder

Appiah 5 poorest game I have seen from him and should not be played on the right as he is not good there

Nedved 6 scored 2 goals which got us out of jail and would surely get 8 and all those ridiculous marks in the papers but in truth he was awful aside of his goals

Divaio 4 absolutely awful on the night

Trez 5 did not do much but he did help create Nedved's second goal and was unluicky when Nedved really ought to have found him with a better ball

Miccolli 6.5 showed flashes of brilliance when he came on even if initially he was anonymous but then burst into life and put Dv and Trez into shame by actually fighting for the ball instead of standing there and waiting for ppl to work for them

We lacked class to be honest and even if we were resillient, to win this trophy we have to show more than this

Sadly the player who holds up the ball and brings sense to our forward play is injured (some funnily say he slows our attacks) and hopefully with he and Miccoli in the team we ought to be better and Lippi please find a way to incoporate Maresca there somewhere

this, unfortunately, became the scenario this season so far. I won't commit on the match, but it's another 3 pts in the pocket and a hope for improvement.
BTW, denco. what a signature u got there.......it's really really good.:thumb:

i noticed after watching th game that olympiakos key was to be very fast, and they also didnt let nedved touch the ball, or think.

Hehehe im a little late to discuss the game ...but i was doing some tasks....anyway!.

You ratings are very accurated and ill not repeat what you said!.

IMO, was the best game of the season by Montero..the guy did some very good tackles...and 2 i can remember , were very dangerous attempts from olympiakos that he rejected!.

Legro was ok.he did just one stupid thing at the end of the game. He doubted in a ball, and the forward from olimpiakos rected faster than him. Luckily it ended in nothing.

Trezeguet did what he could..but as our midfield was totally defeated...he and Divaio were without score opportunities.

To tell you the truth, we had a bad game ok.but it was not completely our fault. We must give credit to the Greek team....because they used tatcics to beat us. IN the first half...they pressed all our players in the mid, leaving nedved appiah and cia without space to act...and then they recovered the balls and attacked at fast speed. His players were inspirated, and played beter than us.

In the second half...their effort took his toll, and they seemed tired. There was when we started to have more ball possesion..well and the rest is history. But it was a good move by the greeks.

The positive`point in the game IMO was Miccoli. The guy did some very classy moves...and the ESPN commentators were astonished. That play when trezeguet did a one to with him, and was offside.was not trezeguet fault, because trez did well iin returning the ball to miccoli, as all the awesome play was done by him. But Miccoli didnt had to pass the ball to Trez.
The chip that he did, and that hitted the bar was just amazing. He looked at the keeper,,,and was so cold blooded to do that!!.

He seemed a lot better than in the empoli game,.,,,and he was almost alone, doing evrything. Just imagine Miccoli parnered with DP...and our mid doing well!.

Very much in agreement with the ratings. I’ll notch Buffon’s score up by 1 for preserving our precarious win though.

Remember how we were talking about the Roma match, denco? Predictable, clueless, dysfunctional, technically deficient, questionable tactics and bailed out once again by individual brilliance. Had enough time to only watch the 1st half so I am confining my scathing verdict on that. By most accounts, Juve were better in the 2nd which might be attributed to a combination of Miccoli’s entry and Olympiakos being content to settle for a point.

Juve were terrible initially. They couldn’t string 3 passes together. A desperate lunge in/around our penalty area was the norm. Alright, Olympiakos were up for it but that’s no excuse. The guys looked devoid of all skill in contrast to the Greeks, who had half their team taking on 2-3 of our defenders with ease. If that was a true reflection of their ability, I’ve absolutely nothing to say. The 3 DMs were given a runaround. The only modes of attack were pushing wide, cross to anyone except our own or simply punt it up, hoping someone might get lucky. AWFUL! Even the B-team of the 96-98 era never ever got schooled like this.

Tactics. What’s the rational of playing 2 strikers who are heavily dependent on service with a midfield intent on not providing it? That’s already 2 men down from the outset. I said it and I’ll say it again – we have a general, NOT individual problem with strikers due to the system we employ. As for the 3 DMs - numerically disadvantaged, lost/shapeless without possession and utter sh!te with it. Wingbacks caught in 2 minds between attacking/defending. The central defence was the only saving grace and it is only through experiences like these that Legro will learn. Let’s hope that the coming learning curve won’t be as steep.

Am gonna catch the 2nd half tonight if only because it seemed like Miccoli had a fantastic game!

I forgot to tell that the referee decitions were bad. He was always giving all the fouls to Olympiakos,,,and they were diving like craxy :(

BTW, Trezeguet´s goal was clearly offside.

Ditto that.
Some of you guys make me laugh. Look at last year in the CL. We didn't impress until the 2nd leg against Madrid in the Semi Final.

You guys want 5-0 every game!!

Listen, you know that if Juve faces a prestigous team such as Madrid or Munich, MU, or Milan, that we're gonna play them well and it will be a close game.

IMO we're the most well balanced team in the world, and we'll be there come the QF and SF, regardless of not beating some of these teams by 3 goals.

Again, Just because we beat Olympiakos 2-1 doesn't mean that if we play Madrid we're gonna lose 3-1. A win is a win against any team, don't worry.

IM happy that we are not i Madrid´s position. Thay must rely on his starts...and when thay are injured,,all the responsability fall on inexpreinced youths.

We have some back up now.

Really i think that maresca instead pf Tach would have been a lot beter.
