I can't speak for others but I found this formation amazing in terms of possesion, width and collective defending since first game til now. Yeah there been boring games and games we given so little effort, but in general the core identity of it has been so perfect.
Only thing I hate is the depth for it. But one more month and we will have a whole summer to address that.
Agree depth wise. That's where I also find it to be more an Allegri move. But then again. We have been bitching about our attacking players play all games, in this demanding formation, for the important part of the season. I remember the Capello days, when we looked like world beaters from September-February, only to look like todays Arsenal for the rest of the season.
I don't see Ronaldo miss all the chances that Monaco missed. Everybody fapping to our defense but I only see Bonucci and Barzagli let Mbappe slip through, Pjanic play two suiciders, Marchisio pass across own box and all CBs lose air duels. Prepare for another final of tears

Lately I have found out that some Monaco fans are incredibly butthurt about our win in the quarter finals 2 years ago. I guess this game will only add to their hate.

6 - Juventus have kept 6 consecutive clean sheets for the first time in their Champions League history. Wall. #ASMJUV
2 - Dani Alves has provided two assists in a Champions League game for the first time in his career. Precious. #ASMJUV
7 - Gonzalo Higuaín has now ended a seven-game goalscoring drought in the CL knockout-out phases. Relief. #ASMJUV
100 - Gianluigi Buffon is only the 2nd Italian player to reach 100 #UCL appearances for the same team after Paolo Maldini. Captains.
0 - Monaco have failed to score at Louis-II for the first time in all comps since November 2015, in EL v Anderlecht (0-2). Failure.
2 - Gonzalo Higuaín has scored as many CL knockout stage goals tonight (2) as he had in his previous 24 apps combined. Buses.

The difference in work rate and closing down when Higuain went off and Dybala went up front was highly evident. He has put in a real shift since this formation change up front and glad he got the goals today.
Some sloppy mistakes made in that game that we got away with, but if we can hold this clean sheet run in the next leg we may approach the final with a feeling of invincibility.
Don't know if anyone noticed, but Ajax are as good as through to the Europa final. The last time Ajax were in a European final, Juve were champions of Europe iirc.

I don't think it is a coincidence that Juve shifted their focus on having a more potent attack at the expense of some solidity and flair in the midfield. Just like any other paradigm shift that has taken place with this club, it took some time for Allegri to find the right combination to make it work

Overall, I think that's true. But I think we missed out on someone speciel to make that transition complete. And that's why we looked so dire during the first part of the season.
