We haven't really had 1 convincing display in the Champions league so far. The win against the greeks was labored. The win against Malmo was also tougher than it needed to be.

However, we are perhaps playing the best football in the last 2 matches than I have seen in a while. Lets hope we can bring that momentum and slam Malmo with ease. I just thought of a scenario though:

If Juve draw against Malmo and Atletico and Olympiacos draw, we are basically out of the competition unless we beat Atletico by a big margin right? (as all 3 teams could be on 10 points once the round is over).

A Juve win against Malmo in that scenario (where Atletico draw with Olympiacos), would still require us to beat Atletico to be certain of progressing as Olympicos have the better head to head with us. It sucks that Vidal didn't convert that penalty! We may end up needing 6 points from the remaining 2 games to qualify.

TBF we had our first game with the 4-3-1-2 against the Greeks, and it was a must win game, so any win there would have done for us. Now after the two big (in terms of scoreline) wins against Parma and Lazio, the team is in really good form and plenty of confidence. No excuses now, were up against the worst opponent in the group and we need 3 points, I'm sure we'll see the real Juve in the CL for the first time this season.

And if we draw and Atletico/Olympiakos draw, we need to hope Malmo beat Olympiakos in Greece, and we'd also need a result against Atletico.

I find it sad that we put ourselves in this position and that we didn't use this formation earlier - would have saved us a lot of trouble. Especially that away match to Olympiacos - we should have got a point there. The equation would be devastatingly simple had we scraped a draw there.

To be honest we are leaking goals in the Champinons league. We have conceded 4 in 4 matches while conceding 4 in 12 matches in the league. Our finishing had been woeful too.

Fingers crossed. I really really want us to progress this time.

I really don't have a good feeling about this, or at least can't understand this extreme optimism in here. Malmö is actually pretty good at home, could've won or drawn easily against Atletico as well.

I think that we will beat Malmo but I am not sure about Atletico, especially if they need a draw.Italians (known as catenacio defenders) have to "learn" from Atletico what it means to "park the bus" and being behind the ball with 11 players.
