I agree. But how I'd love the try it, and what better time than when the heat is on, and you're under pressure :D

Man I'd be a crazy manager :D
And how I'd love to be the man in a position where I could fire your ass if it backfired and slam you for weeks and weeks in the press :D

I do like a manager willing to take risks and do something crazy every once in a while but IMO this isn't the right time.

Ciro at right back instead of Birindelli?
Yes, I have always loved Ciro. He looked pretty good 3-4 times last season when he was tried as rb by Lippi and Birindelli hasn't looked good this season.. at all. Plus his defensive nature gives more room for the likes of Zambrotta and Camoranesi to attack.
Ferrara's lack of pace might be fatal though.

well camo looked to have more ball control than the headless chicken neddy, and apiah will add some pace to a back three....there u go.
Nedved aint headless chicken, don't judge on his last performance, he didn't play for 45 days, P.s don't forget where Capello is playing him.

To tell ya the truth I won't go pages back to read an explanation for putting Appiah in 3 men deffence :lazy:

I cann't believe that some Juve fan still insist on playing Neddy on the left flanks seeing how much this limit his abilities...

Give Neddy the free role, play Camo on the right, let the vertran Pessotto give his best on the left side, as obvious as hell no need to change everything around to prove intelligent....
Ecaxtly, we only need 1 goal, it's not "Mission impossible", so no need to turn the formation upside down, Play like we usually do, but ADJUST some player's position, and put Pessoto instead of Blasi. Thats all.

And playing Appiah in the Quarter final of the CL like a CB for the first time of his life after a long spell of warming the bench is the solution??? extremely smart ....

your right about Ferrara, but it's pretty dangerous, i would play Ferrara if we had an advantage already, but right now i'd play Biri, as i said before this guy runs like lion , and he's strong, so I'd take Biri over Ferrara although i admire him...

About your first point: Yes, Nedved would have to do some defending, but like I already said, not as much as you think. By attacking them the entire match we would restrict their attacks to counters which skip the midfield anyways. But yes, he would have to do some defending, but IMO it wouldnt be significantly more than he alredy does.
Erm, well, I don't think we will be attacking them the whole match because when have we ever attacked a team for the whole match? As I stated before Nedved would have to retreat back, all the way back, to cover Garcia or Finnan on the wing. When teams play with only two all-purpose wingers that's what usually happens. That would also restrict Nedved's lateral movement towards the center, something he loves to do. I really think this would be a bad move Z.

Second: Like I said, most of ther counter attacks would skip midfield, but IMO Emerson could take care of Gerrard.
Perhaps, however I'm still am skeptical of playing Nedved and Olivera next to each other in midfield. If Nedved is caught up pitch Olivera would have to cover for him, not a true defensive middy.

Lastly: I agrre completely, and thate exactly is why I'd put Camoranesi there. They arent used to playing creative attacking midfielders like Camoranesi in the EPL and thats why I think he would be the better choice. He's more creative than Nedved and has better dribbling IMO and would cause havoc in the 'pool defence. Also, by playing Nedved on the wing we'd have a significant threat there as well, as we'd be very fast on the wings, perfect for spreading out the ball on fast counters. We'd be a threath on the flanks and in the middle with Oli and Camo combining together.
You do bring up a good point about Camoranesi there, and maybe that would be a good choice to play him right behind the strikers for his creative sense. He would be able to create more time for the players around him with his dribbling ability and his incisive passing could cause Pool problems.

Come to think of it, maybe this would be another possibility.

Buffon

Pessotto - Thuram - Cannavaro - Zambrotta

Tacchinardi - Emerson - Nedved

Camoranesi

Trezeguet - Ibrahimovic

Almost like the 4-4-2 except that Camoranesi has free roam behind the forwards. Nedved could still make runs up the left side of the pitch with Zambrotta backing him up, and Capello could easily revert back to a straight 4-4-2 if we take the lead.
