Sorry, you are absolutely right, he was robbed of that goal, when i saw the match they didnt show a replay so to me it looked as a clear offside, but you are correct he was onside, close call though but definitely onside.

Still think Zlatan did a much better match then Del Piero.

Except for the goal that was wrongfully disallowed he really didnt do anything in the whole match, except losing tha ball.

So people giving him a higher rating then Zlatan to me is just funny.

I would like to see Zlatan together with Trez or Zalayeta. Del piero is only holding the team back in my opinion. He plays tottally without heart, not like he used to, 3 years ago he was all fire now he is all burned up.

hate to admit it, but u are right about dp...
i wish for our "Capitano" to play good in the sec leg..

Forza Del Piero
Forza Juventus !

so i slept one night over the result. here are my thoughts.

All in all 2:1 is not a bad result, as we are strong in Delle Alpi and have not conceded there this season and won all our games there.
Also we are typical for this kind of away games in knockout stage.
But due to the fact the Pool had many injuries and is not at the class like Milan, Chelsea we should have gotten more than a 2:1 lose.

I think there were many factors that we had a terrible first half.
I think everybody underestimated Liverpool (also Cap).
the suspention of Florence game didn't do us a favour either
we played with Neddy and not the 4:3:3 like in the last games.
some players underperformed
nearly every player lacked determination
Liperpool was more agressive than us.

my ratings:
Buffon: IMO he is not really to blame for the goals, but on his days he could have saved one of them.

Zebina: should have marked Hypia at the first goal and didn't do much for the game

Thuram: looked shaky at times especially in the 1. Half, better 2nd half

Cannavaro: good game + goal

Zambrotta: decent 1 half, better 2nd one with the assist for the goal

Camo: didn't see much of him, underperformed like many yesterday

Blasi: was just weak, should be replaced by another player

Emo: i think the slip away in the first seconds shocked him and he played under his standards

Nedved: maybe it was a fault to start him, as he wasn't 100 % fit, but ok 2nd half imo

Zlatan: could have done better in times, lacks finishing and luck at the moment

Del Piero: IMO played not good and not bad, moved well with Neddy and Ibra and got a goal disallowed

subs:
Pessotto: should be used in the return leg imo instead of blasi

Cap: underestimated Liverpool and maybe should not have subbed Del Piero so early

all in all i think that our chances are still alive, everybody knows exactly what juve is capable to do in Delle Alpi.

I think we saw if Juve really played Liverpool didn't come into the game and with a little bit of luck (post, disallowed goal) we could have drawn the game.

If we win the battle in midlefield in Turin we will go throug, but players like Emerson, Thuram have to play at their standards. also i think Nedved will be getting better match by match.

guys relax dont worry about the next leg. Put in mind that these players have not played in almost 2 weeks and they traveled to England to play a young and fast team like liverpool. Did you expect Juve to come out flying? I mean Nedved hasnt played for like 2 months and hasnt played with his teamates for longer. Let them get back into this weekend vs Fiorentina and we'll do a lot better. Also Trez had a shit week with France and im sure hes going to try n snap out of it and same with Emerson who RARELY EVER plays a bad game nvm two. Give them time to gel together again play another game get momentum and we'll go to Delle Alpi on Wednesday and take out Liverpool. If they could stop them in the 2nd half after the way Liverpool started, im pretty sure they can do that right from the beggining in Italy. Juventus will make it through dont you people worry about it Capello knows what he is doing and he has got Liverpool worked out in his head. The xplosion of the Old Lady will happen on Wednesday so to Liverpool fans, watch out cuz Juve want this trophy real bad and i dont think theyre gonna settle for a loss in Italia.

IMO Capello is the only one to blame for the 1-2 loss at Anfeild . not saying that he had crucial errors but the way the team entered the match was very poor & i think the coach admited it today . Anyway i hope Don Fabio knew what Liverpool can do on their day and prepare the team better !!

Nobody has so far scored a goal in the Delle Alpi during the CL. Even though, Liverpool are very bad in away games. I have no doubts about our semi - final ticket.
Have we looked that bad against anyone else this season, giving up 2 goals in 20 minutes ???

Have we played against a team with this much pace this season ??

NO...

The ONLY way we go thru is a 3-1 scoreline, and I dont see us scoring 3, but you can count on 'Pool to score at least 1

hope the Capello won't rush all the team to attack fromthe 1st min , we must be very cautious in attack and not to make holes in our defence !! just play the opposite way the reds want

forza Juve Per Sempre

Ibrahimovic - Didn't do a lot but it was never going to be easy for him as whenever he got the ball a minimum of two (it was three on a number of occasions) Liverpool players were immediately on him. Good effort that struck the post. 5.5

Del Piero - He was quite unfortunate to be replaced as he was more involved than Zlatan but I can't blame Capello for leaving on the stronger, taller, fitter player. A few nice touches in the first half, combined well with Nedved twice, and had a headed goal disallowed for a dubious offside decision. I would have given him more than 60 minutes, but not a bad effort. 6

Between the two of them i would give Del Piero 5,5 and Zlatan a 6,5.

Del Piero tried 3-4 times to dribble past defenders and didnt even get a pass thru once and always losing the ball.

Zlatan despite sometimes having 2 defenders on him got thru 5-6 times.

Zlatan hit the post after a good solo effort

Del piero got a perfect pass leaving him free with the keeper and missed.

And i dont know what game you were watching but Del-Pieros header was clearly offside.

Del piero was slow and passive, Zlatan had a couple of good runs and was creating or involved in chance after chance(in the second half mostly).

Today Juve played bad but Zlatan was one of the better players in Juve.

Zambrotta being the best and the cannavaro and third comes zlatan.

Nedved and Trezeguet didnt have a good match(undurstandably).
It's you that was watching a different game, my friend. Zlatan hit the post after a good solo effort? What shite are you talking? Del Piero headed the ball to Nedved who passed it to Zlatan who shot and struck the post, solo effort my ass. Who started the play where 'Del Piero got a perfect pass leaving him free with the keeper'? That's right, DP did. He also started the play that saw Ibrahimovic hit the post but you wouldn't have noticed that. You wouldn't have seen his neat turns or touches. To say that his goal was clearly offside is complete bullshit. Replays showed that he was level with the defender meaning that it was a perfectly good goal. Apart from hitting the post what did Zlatan do? When did he beat two defenders 5-6 times like you say he did? Ibrahimovic had a very ordinary game and deserves a 6 at most.

Juve believe in Euro victory Wednesday 6 April, 2005

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Alessandro Del Piero and his teammates remain confident of eliminating Liverpool from the Champions’ League, but Jonathan Zebina could be out for some time.

Fabio Cannavaro’s away goal in the 2-1 defeat at Anfield Road has given Juventus hope of reaching the semi-finals.

“I am satisfied,” said the defender whose header beat Scott Carson at the near post. “I think this scoreline gives us a great opportunity to turn the tie around, whereas 2-0 would have been very tough. We paid a heavy price for the first 20 minutes, though apart from the goals they didn’t really create many chances.”

Del Piero was substituted yet again in the Champions’ League encounter and explained the reasons behind that sluggish start.

“We were very tense going into the game and were under pressure for the first half-hour,” revealed the captain. “We had a great reaction after that and it’s a shame my goal was incorrectly disallowed for offside. The 2-1 result gives us the chance to qualify.”

Gianluigi Buffon could do nothing about the volleys from Sami Hyypia and Luis Garcia, but is also in confident mood.

“I must compliment Luis Garcia for a stunning strike. A goalkeeper always believes he could’ve done more to prevent goals, but in any case we will have home advantage in the second leg and 2-1 is a good result for us.”

Fabio Capello will have Alessio Tacchinardi back from suspension for next week’s game in Turin, but Jonathan Zebina could be out for some time.

The French fullback pulled up with a suspected thigh strain and it’s reported he’ll be sidelined for at least a month.

I think we should use Taccinardi instead of Blasi depending on the system we play.

Can Pesotto replace Zebina?

zlatan helpd the defenders also, when liverpool had corners and set pieces he was there 5-6 times heading the ball away, and he did well in attack, he also won the ball alot, and lost it like 1.! but anyway IMO as said IMO he was better then DP .. NOT MUCH BETTER but he did play better overALL!

Zebina injured for a month, this sounds somehow like good news but then again if Montero is to play it is the worst news I have ever heard

I have a question: The scene between Alex and Troare inside the box where Alex fell, they didn't replay it much. Was that a foul? If someone has
I think it was penalty, dont know why they didn't repeat it, but i think Troare pushed him like the comm said..
