Most Consistant performer tonight was Nedved by far. Buffon gets second place followed by Trez. Emerson was lucky to score and even Del Piero didnt do much.

Replace Zebina with Balzaretti and u will have the ideal formation.
We need to go all out offensively, but what worries me is Balzaretti's inexperience.
Though Neddy is out for the first match.

Here's my take on the game.

Del Piero should've started ahead of Ibrahimovic, no question about it. Ibra's form has been poor for a while now and DP's has been very good, plus Zlatan wasn't 100% fit. DP didn't make much of an impact when he came on, though he did have a part to play in Trezeguet's goal, but it cannot be ignored that as soon as Zlatan left the pitch Juve played better football. I'm sorry but the Swede did absolutely nothing useful and he gets called for offside more than Pippo Inzaghi.

Nedved, Zambrotta, Emerson and Thuram were our best players IMO. Cannavaro was pretty solid too and Buffon made a few nice saves. Zebina was decent, Vieira wasn't able to influence the game and Camoranesi was fairly quiet too. Trez did what he does best once more and it's good to have Zamboy bombing down that left flank again. Emerson should've scored in the first half and had a few off passes but overall did a good job in the centre of the pitch, hit a cracking shot towards the end of the game and scored the winner. Mutu and DP weren't spectacular but we just seem to play better with them on the pitch.

Oh and btw I can't help but feel sorry for Tim Wiese. He was outstanding in the Bremen goal and to cost his team the game like that is a pity.

I actually spent some time looking back at some pages in this thread and came to a conclusion that many (not all) Juve supporters here are what I call preudo supporters. Many question a man who probably has the most pedigree in the footballing world. The man has practically won everything.

Since his arrival, we have always been in front in Serie A, winning one and another one on the way. I wonder if you ever think about the physical and mental pressure is put on the shoulders of those guys? I mean, they played a game last weekend, and some travelling half around the globe one week earlier to play an international friendly match. On another note, Werder just came of a seasonal break in Germany so their feet must have been lighter than ours which seem despite all that has been happening in recent weeks, full of zest.

I agree with the notion that the team didn´t´do good at first half, but in the second we really stepped up our game. I also like to point out that Capello wasn´t happy with the way everyone was so stressed to get a goal so early on that the players weren´t cool with their finishing.

The match was very tense and very entertaining, maybe too tense at times but hey that´s football.

And to hear people saying that Juve should win Werder easily are all wrong and know NOTHING and I mean NOTHING about football. I mean football is not predictably in any way and this competition has showed that anyone can win on any given tuesday or wednesday.

Ok, we were lucky but who isn´t? I mean, they got lucky Emerson didn´t finish off his chance in the closing stages of the first half. I can point out many things that could have gone better in our way. But please don´t think football game is lost or won before the whistle is blown. Especially not in a competition as CL.

Good night and Good luck!

Capello is saying that Juventus had a wonderful first half, but certanly it was not a good half time even match, capello used Zebina Instead of Balzaretti very bad desicion , and off course he had to let out DP and Mutu like alway's, not conformed with that he didn't hurry to sustitude in the Ht zlatan or Camo that were doing a bad match...

Still we won, very lucky But CAPELLO MADE VERY STUPID DECISION'S and almost cost us the CL.............

BRING LIPPI BACK!!!!!!!!!!!!

Its precisely because of this, that his mistakes are just UNFORGIVABLE.

A DT of with his curriculum vitae cant have the luxury to make this childish mistakes of fielding an injured/off-form player instead of a influential and on form one.

Not to even mention the bad positioning of players like nedved and Mutu.

Now i really think that our success in this last 2 campaigns have been achieved in a great part by the performances of our players on the pitch and not the wise decitions of our DT.

i am happy that juve through quaterfinal but i think trezguet has to remain fit for everygame otherwise i think we will be knocked out by any of the teams if trez is injured because emerson and nedved missed about 8 chances in bremen game and there is no natural goalscorer

I dont have anything to say other than we were lucky , and without that luck we were now out of the Cl , i am very disappointed on how we could not even win without that error from the keeper.

This is soo unfair to critisize cap like everyone is doing here. He did some mistakes, but u cant say he got it all wrong. Our wingers today were always interchanging and for long periods of the game neddy was playing behind the strikers.

We created soo many goal scoring opportunities some of them are unmissable. What can the coach or the players do if the keeper was on top form on the nite and do those wonder saves.

we earned that win.We made our own luck, bremen didnt deserve to get **** from this game.

yes it is capello's fault, he is soo stubborn.this is not the first time that he makes late substitutions & plays Zlatan when he's obvioulsy the weak link up front.

Zlatan was probably offside about 8 times last night & cap didn't think it was necessary to sub him at half time?

Juve did not earn that win, Wiese the unlucky goalie gifted it to us.

I just hope we dont get Lyon or Barca next!
