Thus far I have watched the first half of the match, and I must say Rapid looks like a pushover club yet we failed to create a lot of chances and we did not take many either. They could not even get past our midfield most of the time with Emerson basically owning the place, and when one of the two Rapid strikers got the ball around our area Thuram and Cannavaro easily shut them down. I only remember Abbiati touching the ball twice in the first half, and that is obviously a good thing. We had the majority of the posession, 61% to be exact, and most of their 39 was just passes around the back.

That said, our first half performance was still rather weak. I mean Rapid were not pushing forward that much and for some reason we could only muster a few chances and luckily converted on one. Nedved and Camoranesi were not having outstanding matches and we just went through the motions of the first half like it was a training session...whether thats good or not you make up your own mind.

As for the rest of the match, I will have to wait and see until those idiots at uefa.com post the second half of it...not sure why they only have the first 45 available. From what it sounds the second half will have a little more action to it.

we played a very boring match especially is the first half , we could not create a lot of chances although it was clear that we are playing against a weak team.
Defence (cana and thuram) were solid.
Abbiati as usual
dp was denied a wonderful goal but the keeper saved it.
zlatan was not as his best but succeeded to create and score .
finally it was good to see mutu score

Capello's post match comments have proven that he's trying to shed that stubborn tag that he has worked so hard to achieve. Its very pleasing to see all the men up front play like the way they did. I'll start with Ibrahimovic, who showed glimpses of skill, that only belong to those with an innate sense of it. Very nice touches on the ball, but I dont think that nullifies his attitude on the pitch. He has got to realise there is no 'I' in team. And needs to realise that fast or he could fall out with his teammates and perhaps, mentor. David Trezeguet, I dont have much to say for him. Except, if you want a goal, just make sure the ball rolls in his direction in the d and you'll have your wish fulfilled. Moving on to Adrian Mutu. Well, last night's performance could be the turning point of his career in Turin. Capello brought him in for Camoranesi, which was a positive sign to start with and then his pace and deft movement showed that he is all star. Definitely warrants a starting spot if we play the trident or a flat 4 midfield. Nedved's days as a starter are numbered and rightfully so. I'm very hopeful that Capello realises that and more importantly, the more comfortable he gets working with Mutu, it would only mean he might want to hold on to him come the transfer season and Cassano time. Last and certainly not the least, 'Mr. Form is temporary, class is permanent' Alessandro Del Piero: great movement, what a superb volley he struck, almost as sweet as Buffon's girlfriend. Having said that though, I was even quick to see his expression when Zlatan didnt pass to him, and he showed no abrasive reactions, almost like he understood that Zlatan will learn over time. All in the heat of action. I was really impressed by Alex and I sincerely hope he keeps this up, as he continues to work his way back and prove to his detractors that he's all heart. Go Il Capitano.

Im totally agree with Andy`s post.
In the first half we were slow, dull and sterile. It seems was due to Camo having a bad day plus to the abscence of Vieira in the pitch.We were unable to terminate a game against a team that sucks very much,thank you.....

Just some remarks about:

Abbiati...finally he has showed himself a bit. He has everything in order to be and excellent vice-buffon. He is gained confidence and looks promising....

Thuram, turning back to his regular shape. comforting.

Giannichedda...90 % of the time, a non-existant player. Frankly, Blasi, with all his limitations, delivers much more...

Zambro...if zambrotta werent born, Moggi would need to invent him....

Camo and Nedved..a serata no

Emerson..as usual, the most brilliant oscure work. The anchor of this ship.

Mutu...Why is this men spending so much time in the bench????

DP...looks in shape. Please, keep it coming...

Ibra...Definitly, a football genius. Still, geniality needs to be well chewed and digested to become really beneficial. Capello knows that.
As much as i like Ibra, i think two games seated in the bench will make miracles with him.....


But mostly, this game was irrelevant. Rapid sucks a lot.....

i'm sure that ibra has a good talent on football. but he has to stay one or two matches on the bench to watch how a mature team plays football.

I’m fed up!!!
So I will post this in at least 2 threads for you all to read.

I’m starting to believe that this forum is filled with a bunch of “impossible to get satisfied”, “ignorant I have no idée about football and/or strategy” losers.

For the record:
1. I’m not a “Zlatan lover”.
2. Team 1st! Players 2nd.

Juve has a winning streak of 7 games! Did you get that? 7 games!
We’ve never started a season like that. Ever!
And in here it’s just like a war between the fans.

For the first time since Zidane had his glory days we can own a midfield.
We play great from time to time but above all, we do get the results.

A lot of people criticize our coach and players. Why is that? The only concern for a coach is the result. And by god is he delivering.
And the logic isn’t linear as in if you make a change on the pit is has one result. No. If you make one change that affects maybe 10 other aspects of the team. Not just on the pitch!

I wonder how you all will sound after we loose 2 straight games???
Support the team…, if you know how.

Sometimes we get easy wins because the opposition is weak. But where is the harm in discussing how everyone played evenso? All of this goes toward one end only, and that is being able to beat the toughest opponents convincingly. That's what we all want, and by being critical even when we do win, these people are concerned that we still have weaknesses which could expose us when the real tests come. That's all it is, it doesn't mean they don't appreciate our run so far, which has been amazing.

But the first real test will come at the weekend, we haven't beaten Inter in a while, both clubs are in good shape, by all means we should overcome.

That’s not the “people” I have problem with.
It is those who wines with no clear strategy and just wants someone’s head on a silver plate.
I also believe that you should try to improve and analyze at all times but do it constructively and with a clear mind.

Zlatan must learn to pass if another player is in a better position. He is a great player but selfish. Capello will tell him that he has to play for the team. He has to play the ball if somebody else is in a better position and not to try a trick or shoot.

All in all the match was not bad. We dominated 80 minutes and had 10 minutes in which we were not so concentrated. I really liked Mutu. Would like to see him more often. Del Piero also did well. We really have a luxury problem in our attack. I think no other team in the world has four such good attackers.

Hu MUST be selfish if he is about to succeed. Just look at the great players (read strikers) thru the years.
Etoo stole one goal from Xavi last game in la liga.

But that does not mean that he never should pass the ball. And yes, from time to time he should pass the ball when he doesn’t.

hi everybody,

after this much these things are now clear for me:

+we have a very strong bench, with DP and Mutu we started to play real football. and DP should have scored, but........


+ Blasi is better than Pessoto and better than Gianicheda, he must play allways on the right or as a midfielder if viera or emerson need a rest.

+ Abbiati good saves yesterday, I hope he is now confident and will be stronger in the next matches.

+ Mutu and Ibrahimovic scored finaly for juve.

- For the first time I will say Zlatan was selfish, DP and Mutu were alone beside him but he did not pass

- we can get the same problem between Zlatan-Dp as in the past between DP-Inzaghi. I think DP was angry at zlatan yesterday. After Zlatan missed the great chance created by DP, DP was talking with himself, I don´t wanna know what he was saying. Zlatan made also some guests.

+ DP is a great champion, even if zlatan did not pass the ball, he went to zlatan and congratulated him for his goal.

And finaly I think that we are playing really better away form home.
