If you have the option to telecommute, today is the day to take advantage of the option to be inefficient and "work" from home.

- - - Updated - - -

hes been a box to box CM for us always. and if you look at that formation, hell be a holding mid droping back in between the CBs.
Vidal has played a number of positions throughout his career and has been WC in all of them: AM, B2B, holding mid/regista, CB, LB.

He played regista for us a few times.

I really hope it'll be Xabi Alonso and not Vidal. It's not impossible with Pep, but I doubt he'll be that stupid.

That's a very "lite" midfield and defense centrally that we'd take advantage of. Vidal, instead, can ruin things for us by stopping us halfway.
We all know Vidal very well. He could turn on beast mode and make problems for sure. But considering his attitude, he could also easily get a red card within the first half.

Vidal has a penchant for picking up yellows, but he has the discipline for not picking up the 2nd yellow. He rarely gets a red.

Breitner: 'Juventus have no chance’ :sergio::sergio::sergio:
By Football Italia staff

Bayern Munich legend Paul Breitner says Juventus “have no chance” if his old side play to their “normal level”.

The Bianconeri face the German giants in the first leg of their Champions League Last 16 tie in Turin tonight, and five-time Bundesliga winner says the Bavarians are on a different level.

“I don’t see any danger, the reality is that Bayern are one of the top clubs in Europe,” Breitner told Goal.

“In recent years they’ve dominated along with Barcelona and Real Madrid. For the Bavarians the Bundesliga is like homework, the Champions League is the exams.

“We have to show our class over the two games, but if we do that we won’t have to worry about anything. If I’m strong then I don’t have to worry about my opponent.

“If we play at our normal level, Juventus will have no chance. The same would be true of PSG [Paris Saint-Germain], it’s only against Barcelona or Real Madrid you need to really perform at the maximum.

“Among the teams we could have faced I think PSG were the strongest, there isn’t a difference between Juve and the others.:lol::lol::lol: WTF???

“Are they stronger than teams like Gent? Whoever says that doesn’t see what’s happening in Belgian football. They’ve produced great players in the last few years. Remember my words when Wolfsburg get knocked out.

“We can compare what’s happening in Belgium to what happened in Germany in 2010. There’s a process of change, the players are improving and so they’re starting to have success.

“Juventus’ defence? I’m not worried. We’ve seen in every game so far that every team has defended against us with nine-men behind the ball hoping to get a 0-0.

“I played Italian opposition in the 70s, they way they played then is the way they play now. The Italians are born to play nil-nil, to defend.

“I don’t see that changing in the near future.”

I seriously have never seen a player or ex-player throwing so much shit at Juve, not even when Calciopoli hit Juve. Breitner is either trolling or an idiot. No other way.

Vidal was a WC btb midfielder for us, but he has declined a lot and can hardly be seen as WC in that position anymore. He did allright at AM but nothing more. He was a terrible as a holding mid/ regista. He did not have the positional sense or the passing range to play that position. I think he played CB and LB for us 2 or 3 times in 4 years so labelling him as WC in those positions is maybe a bit of a stretch.

Yes but his defensive work has been far superior to that going forward for two seasons now. When he used to play on one leg for us he was still a beast winning the ball.

Breitner hasn't even watching Italian football since the 1970s lol. You only had to have a casual watch of Juve in last season's CL, but I suppose when you have your head up your own ass that is difficult.

Consider it a good sign. He said the same in 2014 before they got trashed by Real :D

I remember him playing as a regista for us a couple of times when Pogba wasn't doing well there. Conte already made the change in the 1st half when he moved Pogba to the side and placed Vidal in the center. Vidal also played as a CB in a back-4 for us once. Did that with Chile too. Also played LB for Chile twice that I know of. He also played FB/WB for us later in the 2nd for us 2-3 times in his 1st season.

He's a very complete and versatile player and is also tactically astute. Plays comfortably in a multitude of positions. You get the best out of him in the B2B though because he can attack, defend, do it all and has great stamina. At least that was the case in his peak. He seems to have lost some/a lot of his attacking prowess. He's still a beast defensively like he was in the last third of last season.

I don't get why everyone is talking about how vidal isn't as good now. I'm pretty sure he is still a force to be reckoned with. Most importantly, he has killer haircuts. But not as killer as pog's tho.
