Disgusting team with a terrible style of play.
Where's all the "we're on top of Series A and UCL group" losers who couldn't see this coming all season.
Our midfield is shot, Pjanic can't be relied upon and the team has no mettle. I was quietly afraid that an early goal by us would mean we'd sit back all game and that's exactly what we did.
Forget about UCL this season, we need some serious midfielders and a change in style.

Mentality - arrogance. It doesn't happen time and again by sheer chance, it's partly an Italian thing (the NT do it a lot) but also a bit because of our tactical approach, also getting away with playing below par for weeks running makes it easy to slack off. We're an average team when we stop doing the fundamentals well, because we're one of the best teams in the game at basic principles. You can't do those basic things without effort, and the other issue right now is clearly physical. When an entire team can't do it it's down to fatigue.
Fucking dreadful performance yet again. In all honesty we should have 0 points from the Lyon games but by some small miracle we've got 4 points out of it....
Having said that how annoying is our attitude? We go 1 up and instead of going for the kill we just set up camp in our own half and show no intent whatsoever. This may work out in a 38 game shitty quality league but in a 6 game league and knockout stages it fucking doesn't.

we played really bad after the first half an hour, but this game could have easily ended 3-1 with mandzukic obviously not caring to score an easy chance by just side footing it into the long corner and higuain over estimating the accuracy of his left foot. the way the game began i can comprehend higuain probably thinking "fuck it, i will try it, because i will get a shitload of chances anyway", but when mandzukic failed to horribly it was already clear that we would be struggling.
do you realize that Cuadrado and Sandro do look that good, because they come into the game totally fresh and play against players that are already tired ? a fresh opponent team will not leave those gaps early on in the game when everybody of them is still fit to run, so it is a sensible choice to bring on players that will take on opponents by the means of speed and pace a little later to give them a bigger advantage. no point putting on cuadrado from the first minute, just to let the opponent double mark him and drain his stamina without effect, but of course perhaps you know more than me and allegri and perhaps cuadrado is actually a stamina wonder and can do those runs in the 90th minute without slowing down. you should tell allegri, so he realizes this or perhaps stop playing FIFA with players edited to 99 stamina and begin to grasp certain limits of real players.

If Higuain finishes that chance we win. But if the ref is too much a pussy to give the penalty we lose. These things happen in football but it is not the reason for the draw. The reason is we dropped the intensity and we're mentally weak. I joke with my friends that we are the worst top club ever. On paper we are a top club but idk what it is, we just don't believe it. That comes from the top. I don't know if that's Marotta, Allegri, the players, probably all three. But something is missing and it needs to be addressed. Lyon played like shit despite us also playing like shit. We should have kept up the intensity and put 3 past them before they had a chance to equalize on our always shaky dead ball situations.
Changing to the 3-5-2 formation back fired. This is annoying, but what did we expect. I didn't expect us to dominate nor thrash Lyon. We were always going to see a similar type of game to Lyon away, as that performance gave them enough confidence to come at us. We showed weakness then, and we showed it again but this time they capitalised on it. Credit to Lyon, gonalons and tolisso make a huge difference and like they say, you control midfield you control... well you know what I mean. It's infuriating that our midfield is a mess. Marchisio is like in his third game in and most of all a full 90 minutes. It's sad that we are in a state where we have to rely on him. Defensively we don't seem solid, we can safely say we miss licht on that right as alves isn't made for us. I'm kind of giving up on him and pjanic.
Our team buy in to that shit too, it's not just our coach. Chiellini's stupid comment basically saying we'll never score lots of goals shows that. We can't make a few passes in a row we're the most boring 'top' team to watch in Football it's a fucking buzz killer to watch us grind through a shit game in the evenings.
