Khedira is a good player but he's not going to win midfield battles against the best mdifields in the world.

It's definitely a position we can improve on and the management should find a better player for that position.

To pin the blame on Khedira for the final is wrong, the whole team couldn't even get out of second gear while Madrid had already jumped up a few gears.

Lack of transition and too submissive in the second half.

We were watching what was going on rather than getting a foothold in the match and putting any pressure on them.

La Stampa suggests that at half time something along the lines of this happened

Leo had words with Dybala about getting a yellow so early and told him to "wake up" and pinched his cheek (Some say he might've hit him but that seems to be an exaggeration)
While the team was talking about the game at halftime Bonu also said that we were "suffering on the right mainly due to Marcelo", Barzagli (was playing on the right) said back "if you had put your foot in front of the shot from Ronaldo we wouldnt have conceded".

Who knows would explain how things just fell apart in the second half, everyone looked out of it.

Maybe Leo will be going

Allegri seems to blame the sudden drop off to the physical state of the players, Mandzu's ankle, Pjanic's knee

Why always happen such strange things in a JUVE-CL-FINAL?????

These guys are professionals and if a little discussion is the reason the team choked away their most anticipated game of the year, they are mentally the most fragile players there are. Perhaps that was the thing Alves was referring to in his interview after the game stating that football was like a boxing match and that you shouldn't show any weaknesses? Hhaving said that however, don't buy it. The pressure simple got to us as practically the world though we would win this and unfortunatelywe've proven, with the current roster, that we are not up to it at this stage. If you really think of it, the core of this team endured plenty of losses in finals and however you take it, i definitely believe that played its part in this game.

If those things are true (debatable) then it shows how nerves come into play and finals are so different. It was 1-1 at that point, FFS.
Yeah. I think nerves are an important factor. Only Gigi has won an important final (world cup), so maybe our other players let the pressure get to them. On the other hand I also feel like Real's star players really came through for them. And while I think we are every bit as good as a team, we do not have someone like Ronaldo or a midfielder like Modric.

It was 1-1 but looking back at how things were in the first half it really looked like Real were just playing the waiting game, saving all their energy and we on the other hand consuming it all. With that in mind our plan failed miserably in the first half as we wanted to take the lead but instead Real scored from their first shot on target. It is devastating and it gets to players heads quite easily.

I think physically we didn't have another half to give. Perhaps to do with lack of rotation for the front 4 or 5 players, perhaps because of injuries. But psychology is also draining and can add weight to the legs.

Yes I agree and as I saod, Madrid looked calm while we were consuming all of our energy. The difference in fitness level should not be that obvious that they could score three past us in 45 minutes regardless of the difference in depth. It all looked more enhanced since we exhausted ourselves in the first half while they were playing the waiting game.

i think it wasn't purely a fitness issue. 2 of our key players got injured, dybala, piggy and alves never showed up, we were unlucky not to score 2 in the 1st half, and we conceded 2 unlucky goals from their first 2 shots.

We werent unlucky about anything in the first half. Two borderline half chances is not what you call unlucky.

People are sucking real's cock far to much out of selfpity. Please stop beeing pathetic.

- Madrid made a few tactical changes aimed at getting past our midfield, disrupt our possession and attempt at getting their failing counter game going. How is this "the waiting game" ?

- We got behind but no change in our game was noticed. We kept going and drew level. Where are these nerves ?

Here is the deal

We were great in the first half, except khedira. But you wouldnt notice cause pjanic and mandzukic compensated

We got behind cause khedira absolutely failed to defend his box and fucking jogged instead of doing so.

Our main pillars, pjanic and mandzukic both had injuries through halftime. They couldnt keep up what they did. Khedira got exposed, our midfield imploded. The team physically died as it couldnt run the extra miles.

With the entire team collapsing, Dybala completely collapsed mentally.

But our organisation stood. 15 minutes and Madrid did nothing. Then a deflection, on khedira offcourse since he didnt block the shot but transsexualised it, and they got in front.

Thats where the game was over

Why did we lose ?

- Khedira completely failed
- Mandzukic + pjanic injury
- Team physically unable to cope with the extra work
- unlucky deflection when we needed to weather a storm

So we started June by getting humiliated in a CL final then it continued by being humiliated by our own player(s) and now it continues by being investigated with a possibility of even more humiliation?

I wonder how this will end.

I believe it was all mental. Madrid had the winning mentality they came to bite and grind, they made the game physical and believed in themselves. Juventus on the other hand thought they just had to show up to the final to lift the trophy. I dont think it was so much a tactical problem because you cannot just beat barcelona without conceding goals, have the best defense and all of the sudden allow 4 goals. Allegri was weak on the second half, he didnt know what to do when things werent going our way. Also our key players choked up, especially dybala and higuain.

Hopefully juve learns the lesson and get the ir act together. Also we need to buy top players for next season because it seems the coming champions league will be very competitive.
