Peluso was just walking 4-5 minutes prior to his substitution. Fatigue or injury. Conte first sent Asamoah to prepare to replace Peluso, but at the end he changed his mind and put De Ceglie. That's fine and all, because Conte realized that we're getting tons of space on the flanks. What isn't fine is his decision to play on the flanks with crosses, yet put Giovinco instead of Quag.
Indeed, the ball didn't want to go in, but it's inexcusable to be put in a situation to chase the result against teams of this quality.

I won't judge his pre-match actions and everything until the 70th minute, even though there's much to say.
But with 20 minutes to go when the other team is pretty much non-existent threat-wise, there's no use for 3 central defenders! Especially when your wingers can't do much in attack anyway.
Getting Peluso out and putting on De Ceglie was a joke. Sadly, Peluso was our best performer today, and I don't want to talk about DC's performance.
