Thanks. IIRC that first match against us the referee tried everything in his power to help them out. This is just the norm when you play the Spanish giants :pado:

A friend said Ronaldo's goal was offside?

Not to mention we had the exact same poor luck in the CL final against Barca. Alves' tackle on Pogba was easily as clear a penalty as Carvajal on Florenzi today. And Roma fans laughed at our misfortune. Time to return the favour.

Ronaldo's goal wasn't offside in the slightest. It was close, but the replays showed he was onside. Hence the reason it hasn't been mentioned by anyone in relation to the game. If Roma had an offside goal against we'd here all about the "irregular" goal.

Don't know about the offside and if it was it was only marginal and didn't have any affect on the game or the goal he scored.

Roma got denied a clear penalty in a game in which they were badly outplayed, out-chanced, outshot, out-possessed... If both teams were actually capable of finishing, probably would have ended about 4-2 for Madrid. Terrible defensive play, and terrible finishing.
nope

I think they were. Aside from the first half, Roma did very well in the first half and Real did nothing at all. But Roma didn't really create anything in the first half either, spending all their energy nullifying Madrid's attack. 2nd half when things opened up Roma was badly outplayed. That was what I saw watching the game. Real had 15 or 16 attempts at goal from within the Roma penalty area, and Roma had about 6 or 7.

James Rodriguez should have easily scored his header, Benzema had 2 chances he should have buried. Ronaldo should have buried at least one of his chances.

So between having almost triple the attempts on goal and chances from within the box, Madrid also had 61% of possession. I don't see how it can be seen any other way. Roma's outlet the entire game was Salah who was very capable of causing Madrid problems, but has absolutely appalling end product, both passing and finishing... He ended up being dispossessed or giving away the ball cheaply 90% of the time.

Madrid was the better team but they werent that much more dominant. Roma was holding their own quite good up until the goal which was all Ronaldo, and after that were denied a clear penalty. the game was closer to a draw than a 2 or 3 goals difference win by Madrid

1-0 or 2-1 would probably be the "fairest" result

That's fair. No one really had any good chances before the Ronaldo goal, but after that happened from 57' to 80' when the Florenzi penalty shout occurred I thought Madrid absolutely dominated and on most days would have scored 2-3 more goals with the chances they had there. Terrible finishing.

Mind you, terrible finishing from Roma as well on the few good chances they had outside the penalty appeal. Salah really just is another Gervinho, I don't know why they were so sure he was a better option. Gervinho was their most important player to begin this year, and any time he struggled (which was fairly often) Roma struggled to create anything. You see the same thing with Salah except he might be even worse with the final ball.

definitely.

I'd say they're currently on a very similar level, Griezmann and Sanchez... but Griezmann has higher ceiling due to getting to this level at a much younger age.

Sanchez is way more inconsistent. I remember he tanked for a full season at Barca and everyone thought he was finished. Griezmann is consistent, plays a more leading role in his team and scores more regularly in a non-goal scoring team. This is while being 3 years younger than Sanchez.

Griezmann is my dream signing to play next to dybala not cavani.
