There is no reason for people to dislike or hate that Bayern due to certain players, coach or even animosity about how highly rated said club been for past decade, so that Bayern, however fantastic and menacing it was, tends to get overrated and deified as a way to use ammo against those you dont like.
That Bayern team was an amazing direct counter attacking team, very mobile and hungry. But very few ever mention their limitations and Heyneckes tactical flaws, if it was a closed down affair requiring flexible solutions, he had little to no ideas. Plus the true greatness of a team is shown by dominating for a fair bit, which they hadnt in Europe. They grew to that machine that year by continously failing for years in last hurdle of CL. Heyneckes was losing his job because of it. They were hungry and experienced from 2 CL final losses in just the few years before, and just clicked in an immense level with their approach when they finally triumphed. But they werent as consistent and as encompassing totally dominating team to be proclaimed the best one seen for sure. The older Barca with prime Xavi-Iniesta-Messi was more impressive and dominated for longer period to be so off handedly branded as inferior to that Bayern in general. Not to mention last years one is also more intimidating then that Bayern due to that insane attack. Also funnily enough, besides being more possession based, last years Barca's approach and Heyneckes Bayern are fairly similar...very direct counter attacking menace that just hustles physically while waiting around to punish you on the break. Luis Enrique defenitely found his own formula.
