It is really quite amusing reading Roma forums like Chiesa Di Totti, where they all seem to be saying that there is no shame in losing to a better team and that they should just learn from the loss and not be embarrassed or shamed by it.

No wonder they've never won a $&@# all! What a pathetic loser mentality. Losing to a better team by a goal or two is one thing, and can be learned from. WTF do you learn from a 7-1 thrashing in your home ground?!? Don't be fucking pathetic losers?

If I was a romanista I would be embarrassed to death. What a disgrace! :facepalm2:

And to talk about Juventus after eating a pile of shit on your own stadium... Fuck you Roma

Getting destroyed by a world class, well-oiled machine at home or being the reigning champions of Italy and not being able to beat Olympiakos in Greece? Further damaging the club's brand?

Which would you take?
The second one. I have never been a witness to such humiliation to my favourite team. Losing 5+ goals is a disgrace.

Don't be fucking ridiculous. Getting thrashed 7-1 in your home ground, regardless of opponent, is far more damaging to a club's brand.

Anyone in their right mind would prefer a close loss to Olympiakos in Greece over a 7-1 thrashing at home to Bayern any day. Even our powerhouse teams of the 90s occasionally lost away ties to teams like Olympiakos. What matters most is winning all your home games, and winning against the pot 4 team away. Right there is 12 points. If we win all 3 home games and beat Malmo away, a draw or close loss in Greece will not matter at all.

Obviously losing at home 7-1 regardless who the opposition is 10 times bad than not being able to beat Olympiakos. Having said that , a club as big as Juventus, coming back from 102 record breaking points in Serie A should not have excuse to at least win Olympiakos by 1 goal margin. Like Buffon says, only losers complain.

This.
Rubbish, Bayern tanked us 1-4 in 2009 and not a lot was made of it, because it's Bayern.

When we fail to win against the likes of the Copenhagens/Norsjellands/Olympiakos etc it further gives credence to the perception that we 'destroy everyone in Italy by buying refs but in Europe they can't and the results show'. Which harms the brand.

Seriously which brand are you talking ? Serie A or Juventus? If you were referring about Serie A , honestly that brand is dead. When the likes of Torres is hailed as marque signing for Milan, second best team in league , which also broke their points record got whooped at home 7-1 , do you seriously think there is a brand?

Honestly, how many do you think still watch other teams in Serie A than Juventus? An EPL fan told me , are they still broadcasting Serie A. Now , everyone else ( EPL, Bundesliga, La Liga fans ) will have a field day, and the most common point I get, ( no wonder you Juventus keep on winning Serie A, its so lousy that even second placed team gets ass whooped 7-1 at home).
