Well that's Juve's problem. You buy three mediocre players instead of buying one amazing player a season like Bayern did.
there's more to it than just that which has lead to Bayern's resurgence, how the league have restructured the youth system in Germany played a big part, something that the Italian FA won't be doing any time soon

How did they restructure, it's been the same for ages.

Also, it is mostly that. One season we buy Gomez, next we buy Ribery, next we buy Robben, on and on, etc.

there was also a interview with a former Bayern legend (forget his name now) last night in the pre match which he talked in some length about the importance in changing the youth development in Germany since the turn of the century, trying to find a clip.

Yea, but I don't think it's as different as it was before. The main change was the percentage of persons of German nationality. Italy, I would think, already has a majority of its youngsters as Italian.

There is a better article about that in a Guardian article from this week - especially about youth work at Freiburg.

Post Secco Juve first needed to be bailed out of a near death econonic scenario. We still have far from enough money and thats not going to change, that aspect is somewhat linked to the italian economy.
