Anyone could beat anyone in one game.
We are certainly better than Roma and Barca are levels above Milan.
If Barca get eliminated it will not mean Milan are better. It will mean Milan were better or luckier in those 2 games.
Anyway I still expect Barca to qualify

I laughed so hard to commentators on my local TV. They were talking about Barcelona's tika-taka for 90 minutes and they thought Barcelona was in control of the game only because they had like 70% possession. What they didn't realize is that Milan was always in control of that match. That's the beauty of Catenaccio. It leaves everyone clueless and confused. Everyone but those who plan it and execute it to perfection.

Milan will absolutely bus their goal in the 2nd leg. And I don't mean like a school bus or something. I mean like this:

I don't think Barca has a chance against this.

Perhaps the best thing about Milan's win (and possible qualification) is that it will instill in them the self-satisfaction, will make the likes of Boateng and Muntari think they're the shit... their directors will feel the same way probably... all this will damage them in the long run.

btw, does advancing through various knockout stages (1/16 --- final) give clubs extra coefficient points? or is it just win/draw/lose that matters? what if a knockout tie result in double draw and then ended up in penalty shootout? will the coefficient counted just as draws?

You get points for winning, drawing, or losing, and then extra/bonus points for qualification to the later rounds.

For example, two teams might have qualified for the semis, but one team might have 18.875 coefficient points, whereas the other might have 22.125. There is a way they calculate it. Therefore, all teams get equal points (bonus points) for qualifying to the same round. Hence, if both Juventus and Milan make the quarters, we both get 2.5 bonus points (if that is the amount allotted for qualification to that round); however, if Milan qualified by winning and losing over both legs, while we won both games, we get more overall points due to the nature of our qualification.

In the end the total number of points accumulated is a combination total points, bonus points, and wins divided by the number of games played and the country's coefficient and strength of the league, or something along those lines.

a RC and a couple of PKs by HT can make that bus quite a bit shorter - not as short as the one barca rode on their way out of the San Siro but short enough to get them thru.
It was just last year that they had 2 PKs in the first half to help the cause vs Milan, so wouldn't put anything beyond ref decisions at the Camp Nou.

Good job by Milan last night though. They had a plan and executed it to perfection. Barcelona had the majority of possession, like they always do, but they barely did anything with it. It sets the tie up nicely. If Milan can nick a goal away from home, the tie is all but over. I don't see Barcelona putting 3 past them, let alone 4 for that matter.

It'd be nice if Juventus could deploy more than one approach. Sometimes when we are looking lost/confused, there seems to be no Plan B. I'd like us to be able to play both possession football, and look menacing on the counter attack. We are easily one of the worst counter attacking teams out there. However, with the addition of one or two players, I think we'd be almost unstoppable.

Interesting heatmap of Barca's 961 touches in the game vs Milan showing a rather uneventful PA on Milan's side of the ball (courtesy of an ESPN article). Barca attacking to the right but getting stonewalled right outside the Milan PA:

Both were legit.

Had read an article about a year ago that basically said if you can stop Messi from having space for his dribbles and put constant pressure on him he pretty much goes into a huff. Said about how he stops pressing or getting involved in the game and it's almost like playing with 10 men.

I think it was mainly about Inters game with Barca a few years ago, but it looked pretty evident last night too.
