several times this season barca have proven you can pass all you fucking like but if there is no end product you are just wasting energy on nothing and exposing yourself to being hit on the counter like milan did tonight.

and what did messi do tonight? as zach pointed out his record against italian sides is less than impressive, only goes to show what a mickey mouse league the competition in the spanish league is like, especially since league opponents are still too dumb to realise how to beat barca and still insist on attacking them rather than keeping it tight and disciplined.
Its not the fault of la liga

there are pathetic few coaches around, that know how to keep a team compact, work as a unit, controll space, doublemark up(wich milan did absolutely magnificent) and break up opponent play.

Conte, allegri, ancelotti and Mourinho are excellent at it...
Prandelli and dortmunds coach are pretty good at it

...and thats about it...

Thing is, you need players with great tactical skills to pull it off. It seems every italian defender and midfielder is at least good at it.
Mourinho suffers in Real to pull it off, because he lacks the players for it.

psg was smart to grand ancelotti the players he wanted. You can bet on psg going very far if the draw doesnt screw em.

psg may have the individual talent but boy that team has 0 chemistry what so ever

i disagree to an extent with your case on prandelli, yes he got it spot on in the first game against spain, but you just knew reverting back to his favoured system in the final was gonna fuck Italy over.

But when thing we learned from experience, Milan grow stronger the further they go in the CL.
I prefer to see this win as invaluable learning experience and a monster shot of confidence for this young Milan team in their quest for CL qualification next year. I honestly doubt Milan would qualify over Barce for the next round let alone reach and even win the final - this year I see as nothing but a stepping stone for the future :).
Either way, this team has already done more than I could ask from them so even if Barca go thru in the end, as I think they will, I would be perfectly alright with that.
This Milan has already made their statement, for now
