For the sake of football, Barcelona must defeat Chelsea' - Van der Sar
The former Netherlands international will be cheering for the Catalans in Tuesday's encounter at Camp Nou as he wants to see attacking football rewarded

"For the sake of the game and for football in general, I hope Barcelona win at Camp Nou," Van der Sar was quoted as saying by the Daily Mail.

"I love teams who attack. Chelsea did nothing but defend with nine players and kept lots of players in the middle of the park.

"But this tie could have been over by now. I expected Chelsea to lose by a big figure. And it could still have been 5-1 to Barca in the end. Chelsea had just one shot at goal – and they scored."

It now makes perfect sense why he didn't save that poor strike of Eto'o in Roma final. Barca were attacking and ManU had to lose for the sake of football :D
 priceless

imagine the journalist who interviewed him said just that right after he said those words:

- Barca needs to win for Good of football

- is that why you conceded that goal from Eto'O in 2009 final?

His face would be the most epic thing in whole history of the universe :D

Well ya, i mean obviously it will be more enjoyable watching Barca's brand of football in the final, than seeing Chelsea park the bus again.

Don't know about others, but the MU - Chelsea final (epic battle) was a million times more interesting to me than 2009 and 2011 MU-Barca finals.

No it wasn't Elvin. It was two disgusting English clubs contesting the biggest trophy in European Club football. Inter won the Serie A title that year, and Spain the Euros.

The only year worse than that (in footballing terms at least) in recent memory was 2010, when Inter won the treble, and an unconvincing and uninspiring Spain won the World Cup.

If someone can find it, could they re-post the list of potential group opponents for us in next years Champions League. Someone mentioned that we are seeded third which means we could be in a possible group of death?
