Guess what, I think that in the last 7 years or so, the team that eliminates us makes it to the final and almost always wins the competition.

Napoli missed out :D

They might do in future years when TV deals and sponsorships are re-negotiated.

In the short term I would think it would be the TV companies that would make more cash as they could sell advertising for more if there was going to be more viewers.

I can't think of how UEFA could immediately benefit financially from a Real-Barca final, unless UEFA puts some strange clauses into the contracts they sign with sponsors and TV companies.

Would a Real-Barca final get significantly bigger interest than, for instance, Man Utd-Barca did? I think most football fans watch the CL Final regardless of who is playing, so I'm not sure how much room for greater interest there is in a single year.

This is just me best-guessing on the spot, though, so I may be completely off the mark.

Yeah, you'd have to think Bayern would need to score an awful lot of goals if they were to win the thing.
Maybe its got to do with us living in different regions that view football differently, but around these parts, if Real and Barca played in the final, even those who don't usually watch football will probably watch that match. Over here, if you ask someone who he supports, its automatically assumed to mean, Real or Barca, i always get weird looks from people when i say that i don't like either one of them

Yes but it's easier to make them face each other in the quarters and still get top viewing. This way UEFA depends on Barca and Real eliminating everyone else in order to make that final and play that final match.
If they fixed something they'd have fixed it Barca and Real to play two matches in the quarters or potentially play two matches in the semis. Two matches would still get more viewers, sponsors, ticket money for the clubs etc than one match would, even if the match in question is the final itself.

I'm not going to argue that it was fixed, as i myself only semi doubt it was. Its just more than a little suspicious that Platini makes a statement hoping that those two meet in the final, then wala, it happens :p

The only Arab country they haven't been able to get to is Libya apparently. The old fashioned fucks over there still go on and on about the Serie A and the Azzurri :yuck:

Fuck this draw. Milan, Real, and Barca in the same bracket. Chelsea, those blue balled cuntbags from London get the much easier bracket.

I hope Apoel fuck Madrid up, Benfica ass rape Chelsea until they bleed, and Marseille destroy Bayern.

I love you Gab. You are an awesome guy, but your team truly disgusts me. John Terry, and that cheating cunt Drogba, not to mention Cashley Hole are players I find extremely difficult to like. It's a good thing you got rid of that other fucker Joe Cole.
