Hulk was a disaster. He basically failed any decision he had to make. Loved it.
He's frequently like that when I watch him.

It also amuses me, considering his name, how rarely he actually makes use of his power.

James is class. Although he disappeared completely in the last minutes, he was indeed the only dangerous player in Porto's side
He was just beating men so easily.

Just needs to improve his decision making a bit.

This game is the perfect example where one team controls the other without the ball and in his own half. Porto looked clueless upfront and Zenit could've even scored if they had someone with pace for the counters. :D
Very true.

I do love to watch a really good, disciplined, defensive team frustrate the shit out the opposition.

Zenit weren't that good, though; Porto were just terrible.

and that team just happens to have an italian coach :touched:
Yeah, because Spalletti's teams are known for their ability to defend. :shifty:

You don't rate Alvaro Pereira?
Pereira has never really impressed me when playing as a LB for Porto, but he almost always impresses me when playing LM for Uruguay.

they aren't, but I'd think Spalleti has learned his lesson after so many lectures ... just because he is famous to have played a certain brand of football in the past, that doesn't mean he hasn't finally woken up and evolved his approach.
Maybe Zenit's crashing out of the CL last year to an otherwise inferior opponent was the turning point in that regard.

I wouldn't - I just don't rate AP to be worth 20mil or good enough for Milan, for that matter, and am hoping Milan to pull a better replacement for the aforementioned players out of somewhere.
I don't rate him at 20M too, but he's good enough for Milan. Better than Abate on the right imo, for example.

Zenit weren't that good, though; Porto were just terrible.
I vaguely said that when I pointed out that Porto were clueless upfront. :p

Is James rodriguez the player we were linked with for quite a while?
Yes.

Very impressive comeback from Deschamps' Marseille in Dortmund, coming back from 2 goals down to win 3-2.

They needed to win in order to get through, and they somehow scored in the 85th and 87th minute  The last goal was a peach too

Leverkusen are doing alright? I haven't seen a single of their matches though.

Dortmund just seem like they were a one man team last season.
Not a one man team, even if Sahin was extremely vital, but they performed as poorly in EL with Sahin last season as they did in CL now, play like rather inexperienced and nervous team in european stage.

I want the Italians to get solid teams in the knock out round, but teams they can eliminate.

Inter to get Leverkusen and Milan to get Arsenal. Napoli, if they qualify, I hope they get Apoel. I want them all to make the quarters. There I want Bayern for Inter and Real/Barca for Milan. Napoli can get...anyone will do for them.
I usually wish them the worse, but I think that if there ever was a season when it was good for us the other Italians to be busy in Europe, it's this season.

I think Wenger purposely sends his goalkeepers for circus training, it's just that after facing shot after shot every game they actually get quite good at the whole stopping the ball going into the net thing.

Football would be so much more entertaining if keepers could only use their feet.

I agree with you. But as far as Inter goes, they're fucked already. Couldn't care less if they were eliminated ASAP.
