Pretty dull night of football.

Watched first half of Chelsea-Valencia, with Valencia not showing up, as I suggested would happen.

Watched second half of Porto-Zenit.

Porto are absolutely terrible.

I've never understood the hype around Hulk. He's just sooooo wasteful.

James Rodriguez was Porto's only vaguely dangerous player.

Bundesliga teams

Fuck off no way that league is better than Serie A. Co efficient points can eat my shit, the only great team they have is Bayern Munich, Granted Bayern is better than almost every Serie A team...but still I think the Bundesliga is massively overrated.

Hulk was a disaster. He basically failed any decision he had to make. Loved it.

James is class. Although he disappeared completely in the last minutes, he was indeed the only dangerous player in Porto's side - along with Moutinho at times, I think this one wasn't bad either. Malafeev saved Zenit a few times tonight though, he was really solid for his team.

This game is the perfect example where one team controls the other without the ball and in his own half. Porto looked clueless upfront and Zenit could've even scored if they had someone with pace for the counters. :D

Was Guarin injured or benched for this game?

Nothing to do with that, I just feel the league is overrated mainly because of "off field" factors such as beautiful stadiums, packed out every week and debt free teams. All of those things, obviously, are fantastic, but on the field I find most of the teams boring and overrated. Only Bayern Munich looks like a fantastic team to me IMO.

My points is that the Bundesliga is better. Just because BVB got knocked out because they have a very young and unexperienced team, that doesn't make Serie A better.
That sentence could apply to Napoli also, and they're doing pretty well in their group. Bundesliga has one good team, thats it.

Dortmund got knocked out because they are not actually that good, but they are still good, I get you.

You don't rate James, Moutinho and Alvaro Pereira?

I don't follow Porto really often, but my fellas told me Guarin was playing like shit before the injury. Which made me think if last season was the hit of a career. It's down to him to prove otherwise, because before AVB took Porto's job, he was probably going to be sold with the "deadwood".

I think they are good to very good but the only player I'd take at Milan is Guarin.

I know, he was a sub at the time and even at the beginning of AVB's season there. But he was the one who had the skill and "character" of a potential big-game player ... a more tactically astute Boateng. Some players just need the right coach/environment to finally really explode onto the big scene and I saw that potential in Guarin, just like with Boateng.
