Barcelona are a horrible disgusting club, even more so than man United but in all fairness it is hard to see just who will come along anf topple them off their perch.

watching last nights game though i began to wonder why no team has played a back 3 against them (i may be wrong as i have watched NO Spanich football for 2 years)

now before i get shouted down as insane it is obvious that a 4-4-2 simply does not work as you get outnumbered and the 2 centre back get dragged all over the place with the full backs tucking in.a 4-5-1 leaves their backline free for teh fullbacks to bomb forward and the 2 centre backs watching one man.

if you played a back 3 maybe you could go man to man against them with a sweeper clearing up,5 in midfield to close down the space they create and give their backline something to worry about

or maybe i am just mental

not quite but i do agree that they are missing many great players out. i loves Zidane,he was incredible but there is a part of me that will always love Platini more
ok i was a bit exaggerating it but still :D even though i think its hard to say who was the best player etc.
zidane was great as was ronaldo baggio dinho maradonna and co
but i wondered why nobody mentioned baggio :)
eventhough i never understand whats so special about all the attacking players. why nobody mentioned Scirea and co?

growing up i have always had a soft spot for defenders and holding midfielders,i think you will find Red is the same. maybe it is a scottish mentality but i loved Gentile,Scirea and Tardelli long before i became a Juventus fan. however as a young boy the 2 names i remember most were Platini and Zico

Brilliant achievement by Xavi, Iniesta and Puyol:

2008 - EURO 2008 winners with Spain
2009 - CL winners with Barca
2010 - World Cup 2010 winners with Spain
2011 - CL winners with Barca

jap me too :)
i think it is because i played as defender myself and most of the time the work a defender does is really underrated!
put scirea on the field and messi wouldn't even dare to touch the ball :D

Messi played without Xavi in the Argentina national team and choked more than Riquelme does on a big choking day.
Do you think Xavi alone would do anything with an average team/unbalanced team like Argentina? Dont even need to hypothetically bring him to Argentina to make that point, he has played in a mediocre Barca and Spain in big part of his career, and he didnt "step up" as many say too easily. Not realizing the obvious of what a team game it is.

Argentina NT is a fuck up untattered joke of a team after another with new coaches all the time. Expecting one player to magically fix that alone, even if its the best player in the world, is missing the obvious. Huge difference playing with that and the best team around, not just quality, but most teamwork oriented with a particular style that is infused to whole squad for a decade.

The funny thing was last night, my brother suddenly in the middle of the game pointed out suprised Xavi missed a pass, and it was mainly because Busquets made too hard pass while Xavi was surrounded. Its bit lol, that as a football fan, you watch a game, and you are shocked a player misses a pass.
