Dude, Arsenal played with the same pussy mentality all match long. They never put forth the guile and heart to advance. They could have been pissed about the sending off, grabbed the match by the balls, played better defensively and edged out another goal. But they couldn't and they're out. We've come to expect more from Arsenal than just a lethargic last gasp like this one.

That's true. Nobody has mentioned that.
Against Barca, in the Camp Nou? Come on man, thats bullshit.

arsenal had that chance with bendtner but barca controled the game from that point on..just think at how many chances villa has wasted plus messi's stop with his shoulder. I'm surprised arsenal didn't forced more to gain posession, in the 85-90 arsenal weren't even running.

not arguing with the 2nd part though
I meant that at 3:1 Barca didn't need to push with 10 men and leave tons of space behind, as they would have if the result was 1:1 and Van Persie was still playing.

I hope the first goal today convinces Barca not to buy Cesc.
If anything, Barça will be even more motivated to buy him. He already knows how to pull off skillful, attacking passes next to the opposition penalty area.

Djourou. I'm starting to like him. I don't know where Vermaelen is, what happens when he returns?

Is there any Dani Alves doubters left? (Not sure if there's many Dani doubters here but on United forums there's plenty) He raped Clichey on the attack and ate Nasri on the defence. The 'Dani Alves can't defend™©' myth once against is proved to be a myth. Not saying he's a great defenisvley, but he does a good job.

At least they scored against the best team in the world - we're chasing our 4th consecutive clean sheet
Hey man, that Lecce and Bologna D-lines are nothing to sneeze at.

Any red card is a game changer. It can either totally destroy a side's demeanor and defensive ability, or it can act as a catalyst for a pissed off response that could win the match. Unfortunately Arsenal decided to cower and give up.
It's silly to suggest that a red card with 40+ minutes to go in a game with a goal differential doesn't change the game.

And no I don't like Barca, last year I wished all Barca players dead (except for Dani Alves) and got banned from a forum for that.
I don't like Dani Alves. The guy isn't much of a defender but is really just an extra winger who tracks back. Pedro would look even more shit than he is if not for Alves. But just as bad are all the announcers who pronounce his name "Al-vez" as if he's Spanish when his name is really pronounced "AL-veszh" in Brazilian Portuguese. Ronaldinho was not pronounced with a Spanish "ho" as you would pronounce the 'h' in "inhóspito".

I have no idea. But it doesn't look like Verm will be back anytime soon, plus even when he gets back, he'll probably be lacking in match fitness, so its Kos and Djourou for the season.

So much hating on Xavi in this thread, but the biggest dolt and assclown involved in one of the fixtures today was De Rossi. One of the biggest piles of steaming dog dung I've ever seen.
Haha I'm watching the game right now. Love that Webb gave Srna a yellow.

I'd kill for a Tottenham-Shakhtar in the quarters.
Modric, Srna, Eduardo, Kranjcar and Corluka playing, getting big game experience. I'd love it.

But Spurs must give me the joy of my life tomorrow first and destroy the shit out of Barca's disgusting Italian counterpart.

I rate Alves highly. He's not a great defender, but not a bad one as people suggest. I can't think of any defensive mistake he did today, he's calm and composed on the ball when defending and clears the ball well, he's good in 1on1, now the thing he's bad at is defensive positioning and often leaves his defensive positions because of his continuous overlapping, but other than that he's alright.

Kos :lol2: I miss the Koscielny-Squillaci partnership, it was so good when it lasted. :touched:

So why do you wonder that noone mentioned it? It was a yellow card foul that resulted with a yellow.
Abidal for getting Van Persie by the neck and starting a fight should have gotten a yellow, but he didn't. Now, that's a situation that wasn't mentioned.
I wouldn't have given a red for it, but someone else might have. It's a more sensical red than giving a yellow for taking a shot right after the whistle in that case.
