ManU scored when they finally realized that they should shoot low, on the ground. Well noticed by someone from United's coaches, I must say. The players in the 2nd half were obviously instructed to shoot low, because Neuer's positioning was always gonna give them more chances to score that way. He's got great reflexes but he positions himself and acts like a handball keeper (Fiorentina's Boruc is the same, but much slower) thus he makes it harder for himself to react to low balls.
Peter Schmeichel was the same- I believe he had a background if handball keeping.

I forgot, the English can't get enough of those thrilling 1-1 draws between Manure and Chelsea.
It's often what happens when two good sides play each other in an important game. If I wanted to see such a gulf in class I'd watch Man Utd v Blackpool. Actually Blackpool was far more of a contest for Man Utd this season. For the occasion this was embarrassing to watch, it could have been 0-5 at a canter.

Man Utd Team = Average

it just goes to show you how low club football has sank to.

compare this man utd to the big teams pre 2006 and they'd be destroyed. Shame money killed first international football and now club football

It's nonsense to say that this Manchester isn't an excellent team, even less to say that they're average and they weren't gonna do much in the past when "top football clubs were much stronger". Maybe United doesn't have fancy and great technical players, but they play top football with amazing organization.

That's true, although earlier in the season they earned more than their performances deserved, precisely because they were a good team. That's what stability builds. Now they are coming into their own, in typical fashion. Still, it's horrible how Chelsea can only be 6 points behind them, it is certainly a mediocre PL title race this season in terms of quality.

relying on has been players like Scholes and Giggs , and not having one world class player does not signal a great team. When these great players were at there prime they did only ever reached the final once.
European club football is a shell of what it used to be, who the heck have Man Utd played so far? Marsellie? Schalke? A chelsea who have been below par? hardly impressive. The clubs of Europe are in the worst state I've ever seen them in, and this is why I'm not impressed with Messi all that much. Dominating through a weak period of football is hardly genius, give me the likes of Zidane, Ronaldo and Figo over these players.

I've always said that between 98-06 football went through a boom, we had so many world class players coming through; Ronaldo, Rivaldo, Figo, Nedved, Ronaldinho, Henry, Shevchecko, Vieri, Totti, Del Piero, Etoo, Van Nistlerooy and the list goes on.
Money killed football in the sense it's hard to develop a player these days arent giving the chance to live up to their potential, look at Dzeko for instance. Back then we had world class players like Henry who never did win world player of the year or European player of the year because there was so much competition. Had we brought him back to his prime, he would have destroyed today's football
