Well..comparing to last season makes me very optimistic

Our performance and results before the Real Madrid game were so shitty...whether in the league (losing to palermo and napoli...draw with catania and sampdoria) or in the CL (beating zenit from a quarter chance for del piero from that far free kick..and a draw with Bate after conceding 2 goals)

Our game versus Real Madrid was a turning point ..we were very pessimistic before the game..but we won it and our performance and results in the league totally changed after it

I think the point is that we need a real challenge to wake up..the performance of the team varies with the strength of the opponent..and this could be a good explanation why our best games this season were whose with Roma and Genoa...and here comes the chance again versus Bayern

I'm quite sure we won't lose this game...a draw would be ok..but i can smell a victory

So we would do just like we did against Bologna and Bordeaux and Genoa?
Each game has its own circumsatnces. Bayern isn't Bologna...the enthusiasm here will keep us fully concentrated and the earl lead will lift our spirits...
While against Bordeaux, it wasn't an early goal ;)

You may compare it to Genoa but the matches against Bologna and Bordeaux were home matches against weaker opposition. I doubt we will stop playing after we have taken the lead at Munich.
:agree:

I was hoping a big win against Bologna which will prepare the team in the right frame of mind for the Munich clash. It did not materialize though, but the team did get a "buck-up" kick in the ass for losing 2 points on stoppage time.

Hopefully, everyone will start performing after that debacle cos we have here, one hell of a talented Juve team.

Under Ranieri we were tuned for big matches, I hope we continue the same... Even though its early, I think this match might make or break our season....

I think the only Big match's we lost was the one to Inter and Chelsea last season, and maybe the loss against fiorentina in our first season back in siere A if that counts?

And I wouoldn't say this is a a make or break match, it's too early, the return match at home will be a season make or break if the group stays really tight, which is what I expect.

mainly, the fitness of our boys...they are getting weary early into the 2nd half, and we are not finishing games as strongly as we should

But, with this early goal we'll sit back and hit them on the counter!!!
We can reserve energy by scoring an early goal, I think.

On the positive note, the team has played & fared much better on away trips so far with Roma, Lazio and Genoa, the tougher opposition in Serie A. In Turin, against Chievo, Livorno and Bologna, we won 2/3 but we played poorly to be honest and they are supposedly the weaker teams ...

We are winning this one I believe.

I want Camoranesi to work more defensively and would like Ciro to make his subs a bit earlier if needed.

Alen?

Was it two or three?
Sorry, I didn't see the first post.

The first bad period was between September 24 and October 18, when on 5 matches we lost 2 and drew 3 (4 in serie A and 1 in CL).

The second time was between January 17 and February 3 where we lost 2 matches, drew 3 and won only 1 (when we had a chance to close the gap between us and Inter to one point but we drew against Lazio and then we lost two in a row away to Udinese and at home with Cagliari).

The third and last bad spell was between April 5 and May 16. We drew 7 matches in a row in serie A and we lost the Coppa semifinal return match in Turin against Lazio.
