khedira and sandro are injured too? :| gds told maybe they out against barca
Sandro had fever and flue
While Khedira,Chiellini and Mandzukic might be out and honestly it would not be a bad thing if Khedira and Mandzu are out.
When needed someone like Matuidi in the midfield. Costant pressing and running while Khedira never do that
And I love Mandzukic but not as a winger. In a 4-3-1-2 as striker with Higuain yes but not like that.

Personally against Barcellona I would play

Buffon
Howedes-Chiellini-Benatia-Sandro
Matuidi-Betancur-Sturaro
Dybala-Bernardeschi
Higuain

and if needed pull out one midfielder (Sturaro) sub Berna or Higuain and pull in the duo Cuadrado-Douglas

Yes, play Howedes, a player who hasnt played a single minute with us against arguably the best team in Europe as his first game.

I think it would be bad.

I like your line up though. I really don't want Costa to start. :numnum:

Edit: where the fuck is Pjanic? I don't like your Line up.

Not a bad game to start your CL campaign with. I'm going 3-0 Barca. Can't see our defence getting away with it.

No Mandzukic? :tuttosport:

Great news. Although I can still expect De Sciglio to start this game ahead of Höwedes which would be a disaster

Who cares about defense. Madrid won cl conceding more goals than us on the way. In modern game, due to the pace and energy level increase, whoever has a better attack will win.

Our two legged wins over Barca is something that was extremely lucky. In the second half of first leg, they were alll over us. We could have lost tbh.

If anyone wanna diss my view, just look at the fact that strikers get better and better. Ronaldo most goals in history for real. While you never hear defenders breaking century defensive records
Many members on this forum keep the distorted belief that we can win CL while defending to death. This despite proven wrong during the last 20 years time and time and time again. Only two predominantly defensive and counterattacking teams won CL since I have been watching it for 23 years -Inter and Chelsea. The rest played beautiful football and attacked much more than defended. This is why I am saying Juve should learn to be more attacking minded and stop this dogmatic obsession with defense. It puts excessive pressure on our defenders and limits our attackers and sooner or later we will collapse spectacularly as has happened numerous times before. Main examples - final Barca-Juve, final Real - Juve, quarter-final Bayern-Juve.
Now more than ever with weaken defense and average midfield the focus should be on developing our attack. But this will be hard with Allegri - even after the game against Chievo he speaks about defense, defense, defense...Not how without Dybala we seem toothless in attack, or how easily our midfield was overrun, but only how to defend the lead. :sergio: The most goals scored by Juve under Allegri in Seria A was last year - 77. Napoli scored 94. Hell, Ranieri's Juve in 2007-08 scored 72 goals with most goalscorers in their thirties. I remember in some games better football by that team than the current one.In 2008-09 we beat Real Madrid 2 times and finished first in our group. You should look at that midfield and defense. :ratcafe: Then we had problems with defending, not now!!!!! In atack - Amauri :ratcafe: Enough said.

I watched last night Barca's game against Espanyol.Apart from the fact that they tore apart them with 5-0 ,it's just scary how good they play when Messi ,Suarez and Rakitic/Iniesta have their night. We will have big problems Tuesday night.Especially when we play without several players and our team isn't polished yet.

or right forgot Pjanic!
Put him there instead of Sturaro or Betancur xD
I'm not saying I dont like Mandzukic BUT NOT AS A WINGER.
He is a striker. playing the wing role just cause he spend a lot of his game to cover the back....
But yesterday when Allegri passed to 4-3-1-2 Mandzukic stepped up his game.

Agree. I used to think playing defensively can win us knockout type of competitions. But that's not true. The only time I remember that is Italy winning the World Cup against France. But even then, we needed penalty shoot out and a red card to zidane.
