Mutu played in a three man forward line. He was playing on the right or left , he wasnt a striker.
Who was the third striker? I remember Adriano and Mutu but i cannot recall who the third striker was, At Inter he was a support striker but could not get in cos of the competition and he went to Verona where he played as a support striker and then he went to Parma agter Di Viao had come to us and he supported Adriano. I did not see all of Parma matches 90 minutes cos I am not an avid fan but the games i did see he was playing as a support striker under Prandelli who seems to favour that kinda formation , so please when did Prandelli start playing 4-3-3? To say Mutu played as a wing back is just ......i i i i am am am spee spee speech speechle speechless

Does anybody reckon theres too many Gooners on this thread not giving the Old Lady the respect she deserves.
Yes but they have come and put their points across. why don't you counter that by telling them why you think Juve will win? They are in your house so show em you know just a tweensy weensy bit about football. I know i can do it, i know some guys on here can , not many mind you but i know who you they are , so why don't you make us proud as a juve supporter and show you know your team and you know your stuff

I've been watching Juventus for a while now and there's nothing that's impressed me. Whether all Italian football is the same jazz, or whether it's just Juventus im not sure.

You have no creativity in midfield other than Nedved which IMO is your best player. You play a wide game, using the pitch well but that wont suit you well at Highbury considering we exploit teams who play wide by countering on the wings whilst they're occupied. Reyes and Hleb will dominated the wings at Higbury.

Our strongest aspect is our midfield. Henry is a striker who finishes moves, but if you were to see both games against Madrid you would realise how well our midfield played and dominated.

Ibrahimovic has hardly any pace so he will need to force his heading ability to perform, our defense is faster than you think. In fact, we are a counter-attacking team and your performance against Werder Bremen will make alot of Arsenal fans happy. In alot of ways, you have no piercing attackers or playing style. You play patiently waiting for mistakes. If we dont make mistakes, we will counter..it'll be a chase to your box and only one team will win that race.

Juventus will play, but i have no doubt that we will up a few gears for this game. It's win or die for us, our season and our future depends on us winning the Champions League. We must win. We will win. That has been our mentality since the beginning of the season. We are more hungry. We are more desperate.

Good post, except for the part about Ibrahimovic as he indeed has pace and when on form can exploit any defender on the Arsenal teamsheet. The sad about about Zlatan, though, is that he is currently off form and deserves to sit on the bench for Del Piero or Mutu, however our manager will start him anyway, which will probably be a plus for you lot. Our managers seems to love starting the same players all the time despite them being off form, and if the same guys are off form come next week Dial will run over us because our system depends too much on individual performances.

You are correct in saying we have no piercing attacking style and thats quite obviousto be honest, and with your fast back four it will be difficult for us to find any openings except for a few half chances in the box given to Trezeguet. But the one thing we can and MUST do is win the midfield battle, however that depends on whether or not we take the pitch sluggish as usual. I sincerely doubt our current tactics will serve us well next week.

wazzuuuUP?! Arsenal fan in the house! I'm a bit surprised about the general worry of facing us in here. In fact - i'm taking a lot of pride out of it :D !

What i've seen this season Juve have been brilliant.. altho i haven't watched them much this year. I think u have the best manager in the world and the strongest team in the world if we go player-to-player. Defence is extremely hard to break down and attack is very lethal with Trez leading the line.

Luckily we have started to hit the form in recent fixtures. Only 2 points separates us from the spuds - when in Christmas that task looked increasingly frusfrating. Henry, cesc, hleb, eboue, toure have all been great and they will have to keep it up if we're to gonna make it to the semis.

And about Vieira. He will definitely get a warm welcome - after all he spent 9 succesful years with us. However, we must not forget that he left to Juve mainly because of the CL. And he will do everything to win it, even if it's against us.

We've been cursed with injuries this season. This current moment isn't an exception. However, van Persie and Sol are back and will be available in the 1st leg. Freddie misses Charlton game, but most probably will be fit against Pompey (before 1st leg). Cole is certain to miss 1st leg - but will be back in the 2nd if nothing new setbacks will occur. Reyes should be fit against Pompey too. It's 'a minor injury' according to Wenger.

I think it's gonna be a tough pair of games and the better team should go through! Ciao i'm out!
I agree...

you havent seen us play much this season !!:D

we have been very consistent in europe just look at the 8 games we have played we have won all our 4 away games
all the players are concentrating in europe very well
don't look only at the results but on the performance as well
yeah juve know how to win games
just remeber what speed can do with you
if you are this fast then its over for juve
if not i think you better concentrate in PL to get a place in cl next season

Gila NEVER started when Adriano and Mutu where in there, he only got to play after Mutu left.

Parma played a 4-4-2 with Adriano AND Mutu up top

Mutu was NEVER a winger with Parma, or the Romanian NT, this is some wacky idea that CapelLOL came up with

if you guys subscribe to Calcio Italia, check your back-issues and you'll see for yourselves

For sure it wont be an easy match, we can win only if we will be concencrated whole match cause one stupid mistake of our player may cost us a lot. Arsenal plays quite different football than Juve. They move very quickly from defend to attack and i suppose that will be the biggest problem for us. We must play this match with passion and agression, we should play in our style and we SHOULDN,T let them play!!!

Wow, people must have only started to watch football AFTER Mutu left Parma for London, because Mutu never played anywhere besides next to Adriano up top for Prandelli.

Actually Mutu played second striker for Chelsea for a while and he excelled at the beginning. It wasn't all terror for Adrian at London.

I'm not affraid of the possibility that A.Cole and Campbel might be fit, because Wenger will not play them in such impoprtant game, they are totally out of form.

I actually would like them to play a part even if they are fit, Simply cos they are certain starters with no determination nor drive cos they believe they are better than anyone else. and the reason defensively Arsenal are doing well of late is the determination that players like eboue/flamini/senderos they sem to be proving a point especially there defensive quality. If that makes any sense? :D

Arsenal certainly deserved to eliminate madrid while juve were lucky in the end to qualify although the bremen keeper had been superb up until his fatal mistake.

but unlike madrid juve are not afraid to get stuck in and get physical juves playing style comes in for critisim a lot and if you were to compare juve to a premiership team their style is quite similar to chelsea and boltons to some extent with a bit more class.

but juve have a big strong physical team that are not afraid to rough it up cesc fabrigas and gilberto were outstanding but as arsenal fans will admit when teams like blackburn get stuck in the gunners are often found wanting.

nedveds suspension will be a loss as he is in great form at the moment and more than any other juve player he wants champions league glory.

eboue and flamini have filled in well but imo can still be exploited.
trezequrt will be quick to pounce on any senderos mistakes although cambell might be back he has not been great this season.

but while juve would miss certain players if the are unavilable they have no irreplaceble player if henry picks up aan injury or something that will limit arsenals chances, although van persie is a looks good and i think he could cause juve some concern.

also jens lehman does not like players interfering with him although he has been great this season he is rash and mistake prone, while buffon seems to be nearing his best once again.

it will be close and a lot depends on the first leg i think juve need to come away with at least a 1-1 draw as we are not the best at trying to overturn first leg deficts.

it should be close but i think juve will be to physical for arsenals liking and can edge through to the semi

i really hope zebina is not playing against arsenal, henry likes to drift to the left and run at people i think zambrotta at right back and cheillini at LB.

also maybe with nedved out if cap does go with zebina at RB maybe zambrotta might return and take up one of the wide midfield positions.

with zambrotta 's and mutus spped that would give juve a new dimensions although hope mutu rediscovers his crossing touch that is where camo is very good

i mean people can say we were lucky against bremen with that goal coming...but no
one mentioned the desire that juve had.. to win the game...indiviually.it was the best performance...but teamwork lacked..and luck(until the goalie error)..
