He is/was extremely talented, judged on talent alone he is imo defenitely on par with Del Piero and Totti.

Difference is, he's a lazy fucking nutjob, and therefore only amounted to a perhaps little bit above average player with the occasional moment of brilliance, who doesn't deserve to be mentioned in the same breath as those two, or even Inzaghi, Di Natale or Toni.

Paolo was legend! He wasn't all that prolific for a striker, but that era of Italian football wasn't really conducive to the goal per game junk we see now. But I can't think of many players who were so clutch in big matches. That '82 run was incredible. 3 goals against Brazil, 2 goals against Poland in the semis, and the first goal to give Italy the lead against West Germany in the finals. What a hero.
