That's how co-ownerships work. We can buy an improved player back for more money than we sold for, or we can sell him for the same amount and make a nice profit.

I see this bit confuses you. That was his value, that is what clubs were willing to pay for him. Torino are hardly going to pay us €10m for his half because he might have a great season. He might get injured and never play. He might totally flop and score 3 goals. Then his value remains much the same or less. Clubs don't have the benefit of your crystal ball.

I don't really fancy going over the detailed pros and cons of co-ownerships versus loans for the 20th time, but suffice to say it's in Torino's interests to improve the player. They were the only team who took a gamble on him - and it is a gamble for them too - and it has paid off. Otherwise he goes on loan elsewhere again and that club has no vested interest in developing him as a player. A club who loans wants a player ready to perform.

Assuming that article is not just made up, as it probably is, then that just means that Torino need to pay €12m to tempt us to sell our half. It doesn't say we need to pay €12m to match it. We have financial clout that Torino do not, the ball is almost always in the court of the larger co-owner.

I don't think anyone in their right mind would say Immobile's current value is €24m.

Anyways, regardless of the price of his contract, this is a loan from us, we had his full contract, we are loaning him and also giving the rights for 50% of his contract for that ammount.
But why do they always get to keep the player? Cant we find a way to get him back, without buying back his contract, test him in deep water and if he cant compete let them keep him for those 12mil.
If Marotta was unable to negotiate a better price for his half and also was unable to enter a buy-back clause close to his acquisition price, then at least he stop conceding the right to player the player indefinitly.
He was our player, our terms, how can are getting owned again?
Esp after what Parma did to us with Giovinco?
