you can't deny that at the time Krasic seemed like a good deal, Lichtsteiner and Vidal were bought for a good price considering the current football climate with overpaid and overpriced players being snapped up, Pirlo and pogba were free, we spent a small fortune on Pepe and Giaccherini who like it or not are still useful to this team, the deals for asamoah and Isla were very good even though we still havn't fully seen their true worth... i could go on.

It's funny that, of all people, are pouncing on this before an official statement is released. We don't really know what was said during the negotiations. You might have a beef with the co-own system and it's functionability, but that's hardly Marotta's fault. Experience is crucial and Marotta couldn't have known we would need Immobile come January. Furthermore, Conte isn't mentioned on any of these pages despite the fact that the club is ran on the basis of cooperation. This forum needs to get a grip, we loaned this kid out to get experience and his current club are well within their rights to demand something unreasonable for him, because they see potential in him. If we wait two more years and he develops into a striker we really need, we can buy him back for max 10m EU, which means we get a product ready to play for a net spending of 6m EU.

I'm not too worried about this deal. Getting Lisandro Lopez or Llorente in January is impossible but not Immobile. We have difficult task ahead of us because Genoa is struggling to get out of relegation zone and no money/loans will satisfy them. They want our players because they have holes they need to fill if they want to stay in Serie A for next season. I think we'll get him, it seems Immobile doesn't want to stay there, their ultras don't like him etc. It's up to our management to propose them some convincing offer.
I understand that people are dissapointed by the lack of a good striker, I do. What I don't understand is a comment about losing faith in Marotta half way through the January transfer window. Especially when the club itself has repeated several times that there is no money to spend at the moment.

I'm not sure you can even buy back the 50% after 6 months, I assume this is a proposed loan swap deal. Genoa know that if he comes back here and scores some goals he'll be worth more, so even if they could sell the half for €5m they are playing stick or twist and might gamble for more.

I don't care about what was said nor about official statements to say that I don't like how Marotta operates sometime. Immobile for example could have got some playing time instead of buying Bendtner for example. And let us not forget that instead of keeping a striker your team needs he sends him away and does not aquire what the team really needs instead he buys Asamoah and Isla. One is playing out of position and the other out of brain.

What we're going to pay in return is a fee because they took a player in his freshman Serie A season and gave him playing time. A perfectly valid investment, like sending your children to a good school.

I just don't see co-ownership is better than loan. Giovinco case is one. Now Immobile. Yes, we said we needed $4.5-5 mil to buy Padoin at the time and now we likely have to pay that much extra op top of Immobile's value to bring him back. If we see the guy's potential after one Serie B season (I understand Serie B is inferior to Serie A), just loan him out, don't co-own.
