Spalletti turned a dud like Mancini into a player Lyon bid 25 million for, turned Taddei into a tie-winner in the Bernabeau, and turned a former right-back in Perrotta into a trequartista. What kind of trequartista you think he'd turn Diego into? He wanted Giovinco on loan after his season at Empoli too. I don't need to see what he does in Russia, I saw what he did in Italy.

Mexes, Chivu and Cicinho were all highly rated players, deservingly, before they went to Roma. Then Spalletti ruined them as he has no idea whatsoever how to organize a back four.
If Spalletti believes fielding Totti as a lone striker and using Perrotta, a talentless clown as a trequartista is going on the right path, then I'm afraid to see what he'd do with Diego and more money at his disposal.

Ranieri was a horse's ass who was so predictable that we only came in 2nd last year thanks to someone else coming in and solidifying 6 much needed points at the end of the season.
You act like Ranieri would have been a guaranteed Group winner every season because the team outperformed itself on two occasions. Do you need to be reminded that the team was lucky to beat Zenit in the opener thanks to a Del Piero free kick? Do you need to be reminded that they drew BATE twice. They won because they were motivated against Real and because the rest of the group got the results necessary for us to claim top spot. Analyze the whole situation and the performances. We looked good twice and frankly it was ADP that secured our three wins. He was injured for Ciro the majority of the time.
Ranieri did a good job at Juve. I'll always respect him for that, no matter what idiots say. Ciro brought us six points towards the end of last season, yes. But that had nothing to do with him being the coach. Look at him now. Ranieri build a solid team with average players. To say the success (yes, success) we achieved after being promoted to Serie A is the players achievement only is moronic. The problem was that we achieved more than we should have in the first season after Calciopoli that people thought we would win something in the next. His reign wasn't without faults, but it wasn't a disaster as some blind fools make it out to be.

I don't think Ranieri had it in him to win anything (other than maybe a Coppa) with us. He had to go, but to say he was rubbish is something I will never accept.
I still watch the goals and highlights of that match every time I nearly suffer a heart attack watching Juve play these days. Iaquinta's celebration
