Ciro was one of the best defenders in Italy at that time. Its an unfortunate for Italy that they did not utilize him well in the national team. In his last season when he left his spot to Fabio Cannavaro it wasn't because he was bad it was age getting to him. He did not have the fitness to run after forwards the way he wanted while being close to 40.

For Ferrara the match is a first as a coach but in his past as a player the precedents are quite a few: «I remember Real-Madris- Napoli (2-0) on my debut in the Champions Cup, played in an empty stadium. At the time I was marking Butrageno...». Apparently El Buitre in the past few days was seen in the hotel were Juventus are staying: «He was here? I didn’t see him, but in reality I didn’t see him neither when he scored in the return match – joked Ferrara – Luckily now things are different and I don’t play anymore…».

Have anyone noticed that the forums are running faster since Cronios went on vacation?
I wast thinking that there was a lot less stress and ambiguity around the forums. But his senseless lengthy posts take up too many MBs in the servers.

Ferrara hails progress

Juventus Coach Ciro Ferrara admits he was disappointed not to win the Peace Cup but believes it allowed his side to make great progress.

Juventus beat Real Madrid on the way to the Final where they were beaten on penalties by Premier League outfit Aston Villa.

Losing on penalties was a big blow. Given I am still new to coaching, I have still not become accustomed to losing and it doesn't feel good,” Ferrara told Tuttosport.

More promising, however, are the many positives we can take back from the Peace Cup. During the tournament we displayed a great solidarity and this will set us in good stead for the season ahead. I had the confirmation that I'm leading a great side.”

In closing, Ferrara expressed his delight at news David Trezeguet is staying.

Despite our recent defeat, the compensation was seeing a reborn Trezeguet back in action. David has understood how important he is for the team and I actually consider him a fundamental element.

“I explained to him on the first day of preseason that I had no intention of letting him go
,” Ferrara concluded.

Lippi also cast his eye over the Serie A scene and his former clubs, Inter and Juventus.

“Ciro Ferrara can win the Scudetto, as he has a great squad and a fine club behind him. Ciro has intelligence, charisma and the ability to get the best out of others.

“When I was at Juve, I asked Ferrara and Paolo Montero to train the defence for half an hour while I worked on the midfield and attack
