About cronios comments. Yes u have all the reasons to say that. he has not coached ever.... that is enough to say that we have an uncertain future in the next campaign..
Exactly, but he is saluted as being the only thing our team ever needed and didnt have, up until now...
But let me tell you something, at least in serie A.... we are not overly outclased by anyone...this last title was lost not only because of our defence but because a lot of factors...and we surely did had enough quality to pose a dangerous thread to inter.
Except by Inter and to win it, we need to win them.
We need to make less mistakes than them and become more efficient!
Keep in mind, as they will see us pushing forward, they will try even harder.
No one has forced to try for the past years, they have won with cruising speed...
Because we cannot afford to create the squad they posses, we should focus to optimize our management and starter material!
And beat them, where it counts!
IMO we never had the material to pose a threat, we need many more years of building and judging by the way we have done so far and the rate of adding one quality starter/season. We will make a competitive year in a decade...
We never pressed them to give their best, they can do much much better than that! And we have seen last year how are we going to be treated if we really pose a threat to them!
In my opinion.... it doesnt matter the coach.... if this team fails.. it would be because of the lack of good defenders...and not even the best coach would be able to put the likes of MOli and Legro on world class level.
Yes, this team will fail to win the title because of the defenders anyway.
But a bad coach can make even more damage than that. Thats the risk one team of our class cant afford to take, in both players and coaches.
Thats why the natural course of things dictate, that smaller teams who have little or nothing to lose, will take that risk for us!
I never blaimed CR for not winning the league and i will not blame Ciro either.
On the contrary, i am afraid that he might be considered a failure, despite achieving our realistic targets and this might hurt his carrier!
We saw Ciro doing some good job in the defence in the last 2 games...(yes they were sub par enemies) but the fact is still there. And from some years we have been claiming that it would be good to have a not so experienced coach but eager for succes thana old coach with old mentality.
This time we maybe over did it with Ciro..... but i really believe that if we get the right replacements in defence.... We will not need a magical coach to field a competitive juventus team.
Indeed, that was, what i was expecting from Ciro in so little time and he has delivered! I am happy and proud/confident of that!
CR failed to see that, for two years!
But without the proper tools, the competitive teams, will exploit our weakness, despite the re-calibrated tactical adjustments, that will increase our defensive efficiency, only by those changes!
If the Mercato finishes with us gettign a great defense... we will have a lot of competive players, making Ferrara´s choices much easier....and ferrara is also not alone there.
Our board has decided that they want some cheap unknown quantity on our bench, someone who can be easily manipulated and wont make any demands.
Thats why we have thrown away DD and got DD.
And thats why we are not interested to bring a prestigious coach and prefer no ones.
Ferrara, by default will have his hands tied, we have seen enough in the last 3 years to know that. I hoped that this year Elkann will bring some changes and we will bring a new master tactician, who will have the authority to make the proper adjustments. We have seen what Gigli and Secco are capable of.
And i m very sorry that nothing have changed...
Putting the right players here and there....and pumping our players for thegames will surely make us look much better than we did this season, without the need to have a capello or a mourinho.
Thats the best case scenario, but again that might not be enough to win us smth.
In the mean time, signing players like Dagostino, Canna, Mellberg, Pandev, Poulsen and Salvio the quality percentage of our team doesnt improve and we are not closing the gap of quality between us Inter and Europe's most competitive teams. We are just wasting time with sidesteps...
For no real momentary gains!
He has got less to complain about....still he will always find something.
Diego...not good enough.
Cannavaro...not good enough, too old.
D'agostino....nope, not good enough
Criscito....still not the answer to our defense
Ciro...unproven, not good enough for Juve[/QUOTE]
I was very very glad we got Diego, i called that the best transfer this board has ever done!
Canna is indeed too old, ppl think that we have signed the old Canna back, like the time has stopped...
Dagostino should be bought instead of Poulsen, or by Almirons and Tiagos funds.
IMO our defensive enhancement was a priority and might be comprimised, just it was compromised when we have allocated the funds to buy Poulsen last year!
I ve always believed in Criscito, just criticized who Secco and CR dealt with him.
And yes, i believe that we are not that desperate and we can find a better coach if we wont to!!!
Salvio...too risky, still need more defenders
Pandev...not good enough, not what we need, need defenders
Benzema...worldclass, wouldn't help us...not good enough
Amauri...scored plenty even had assists....waste of money
I was right about Amauri, not being able to score as many goals as Treze and not being able to save our defense to concede more goals than we score!
These were my points of criticism, i never attacked the player, but our priorities!
I would welcome Benzema any day, he is not a Pandev, Lavezzi, Cassano, Quaq, AquaFresca etc, he has world class potential!!
As for the rest, i believe that we are very well equipped on our offense and we have invested enough for the past 3 years. It is time to look into our defense, for a change... And then, i wont mind any of those forwards to come, BUT NOT INSTEAD of defenders!
I guess who we have bought, looking to buy or rumored to buy will never be good enough for Cron even though we have extremely bolstered our midfield with Diego/maybe D'ago which will finally be able to link our defense and offense together (which no one could do consistently last year in midfield) all the while we have brought back Cannavaro to help out in defense which still will not help apparently. The reason our defense struggled (apart from "mediocrity") is in my opinion that fact that midfield was always bypassed and we never were able to control the tempo or possession of the ball and we were always put back under immediate pressure when horrible long balls from the defense as they had no one in front of them that wanted to receive the ball. Finally, we will have people that WANT the ball to their feet and can dictate and take the pressure off of our defense finally along with a strong ass attack line that we spent on last summer so we WOULDNT have to this summer for that very reason while having a Buffon-Chiellini-Cannavaro trident at the back with too worldclass (one almost) CM/DMs destroying the opposition to help out our attack minded players and playmakers...but none of that is good enough for Cron because none of the players mentioned is his beloved RB that we so very need as our season will be an immediate failure without one.
All i am saying for all those years, is that we should upgrade our most incompetent starters, that are dragging down our team, before we start fine tuning the line who are stacked up with competent starters and promising youngster material!!
I dont think that it is so hard for a team like Juve to find better starter choices, than Molinaro, Legro, Grygera and Marchionni!!!
We could add two starters last year and two this year and field a competitive squad. However we are just spending the money who could have solved those problems to extra subbers!!
I have explained in great detail, why these players would be our starters and how they are going to drag our team down, even before the season started.
No reason no explain it once more, as history has proved it!
And we have done nothing to prevent it.
If you missed that, i assume that you have missed our season too.
You should know better than that...
I guess if we had kept to Cron's plan and only signed defenders we would perhaps have a better back line but a uncreative midfield that wouldnt know what to do with the ball at their feet just like last year. So again, even with a strong backline we would be sending balls aimlessly over the midfield with hopes of landing on our forwards head or feet only to lose possession again to put our NEW and IMPROVED back line under immediate pressure again and those amazing counterattacks to we get caught on because we still have a transparent midfield.
On the contrary, if we were buying a good defender instead of Poulsen,
we could afford to field a more offensive midfield, without the necessity of two defensive minded wingers.
We could afford to use Giovinco more and CR wouldnt have to sub out Camo for Marchionni...
Even so, despite our defensive minded midfield, imposed by our weak defense,
we have encountered more problems not to conceded a goal, than scoring it!!
Think about it!!
I don't know how some of you whom complain about this summers (even last summers) transfers do not see the big picture now. We spent millions on Amauri to create a ferocious 4 attack line that could be the best...nay, would have been the best had we had midfielders that could deliver Camo-esque precision passing. Now they have that...our fantastic 4 up top will have Camo, Diego, D'ago, Gio, Marchisio all serving delicious 5 course meals on silver platters for our attack...goals will be flying in this year. On top of our new attack minded/playmaker mids we have dedicated Marines in Marchisio/Poulsen/Sissoko to go balls out to protect our defense and clean up any mess. THEN we have potentially for at least a year an absolutely deadly CB pairing that any team would die for along with the best GK in the world. Now bring back Criscito to lock up the left side, a Camo back-up and Cron's oh-so-needed RB and we have a sweet ass mercato. But lets not trust in Zebina if he is fit. Oh no, someone whom shut all of us up with his last performance...maybe it was luck, probably some crazies on this forum will say that. Zebina when on his game is great. You take any risk buying a player that he could be susceptible to injuries. Diego could be, Canna could become injury prone...Zebina may never get injured again, who the hell knows. I am tired of rambling on....fuck it, our board is doing great so far...especially if Criscito gets back, D'ago joins...etc
The quality percentage of our first eleven is not increased by Dagostinos.
Marchisio isnt that bad. Moli, Grygera and Marchio are.
Lets say Dagostino is 5% better than Marchisio, think what we could add with a RB or LB of Dagostino's value, as an upgrade to Moli or Grygera.
We could gain a 50-100% improvement there!! See my point??
As for Zebina, he has proved that he is as injury prone as Tudor.
It doesnt matter if he is better than Grygera or not, he is not reliable enough to rely upon. We have wasted enough years waiting for him!
Grygera as a starter for a third consecutive year is a disgrace!!
Now we have Ciro...a fan favorite, part of our glory days...and RESPECTED by our players and our youth. Who gives a crap if he has no experience. All great coaches started somewhere all because someone gave them a chance.
It is an easy thing to create a turning point and gain some momentum.
But much more difficult thing to sustain it! Motivators effects dont last forever.
We might be happy and pleased now, cheered by the hope that Ciro MIGHT be proved as good as Pep. But what will happen in our first reality check?
A no one will collapse way faster than a prestigious coach!
And might not even have the chance for a second try...

The last time we turned to a coach with hardly any experience he gave us six titles in ten years...
Cronios, two words for you - Giovanni Trapattoni
C moon, we are not that Juve and Traps dont appear every day.
And those were different times, as his carrier has proved lately...
