the gk plays a large part in the organisation and stability of the defence
this is one of the reasons our defence is better than romas

We didn't say that before Momo got injured though.
You mean see? I did and i ve explained through my discussion with Alen, how this has masked our issue for some time. But the point is that our problems still stands, no matter if we see it or not and matter if it is masked or not.
We are playing with a handicap.
And it should be our priority to fix that!!
Well, if DC played, you would have moaned even more about the defence, because he's weaker than Molinaro when it comes to defending.
I wanted to let him get more chances, because i believe in his potential.
In some games, when Sissoko and another DM was present, against some lower opposition, our only problem was a better support upfront.
But even then CR was tooo afraid to the logical thing and field him.
DC was not worse defensively than Moli was last year.
If we could afford to use Moli for an entire season last year, why couldnt we risk DC in a few games, we could afford a non defensive LB??

DC has much better tactical awareness than Moli. If Moli managed to improve his defensive efficiency through teamwork, with a total lack of footballing skills, so could DC and much much faster!!

In the best case scenario, we could have earned a new Zambro, someone who can both attack and defend!

In the worst case scenario, we would know that he is not good enough and we need a Grosso...
Moli would be used at most of the times and against the most competitive teams.
The risks were minimal, but the award would have been a starter with potential, whilst Moli is only a waste of time...

Indeed. But lets not underestimate that the second defensive line, right in front of our defense does too!!
We had 1 DM at all teams and one CM that half of his duties are to defend.
All of the wingers, CR were fielding, were defensive minded.
Neddy lost his attacking efficiency and Marchionni wasnt unable to do smth more that disturbing the opposition wingers.

We were basically playing With 3 1/2 extra defenders right in frond of our D-line.
All of our midfielders had defensive duties. Thats reaaaly helpful for our defense!!

Without this extra support, the extra dynamic coverage a best DM was putting to the table.
And the quality of Chiellini, our defense was exposed, even to the most untrained eye...

Our defense without these elements cannot stand its ground.
And we should improve it and avoid facing the same situation again.

The more we upgrade it, the less dependable we will become from those factors.

For ex, if we buy a quality CB like Chiellini, our defense will survive even when he will be injured/suspended. Atm a CB duo Legro/Mellberg cant cope. But any of them with Chiellini can! Adding a 36 year old Canna wont help much.
Because i dont think that he can be the player he once was.
Without Chiellini, we will suffer again...

And imagine how solid our defense would have been with two players of Chiellini's quality. We could afford more offensive minded fullbacks then and a better support to our midfield/forward line!

If we buy Dagostino, who cant defend any better than Poulsen, Marchisio, CZ and Tiago.
We will again suffer from the extra defensive coverage we have under Sissoko.

If we change a to a non winger formation and our wing-backs are as useless as Grygera and Moli. We will be dominated in our flanks and will be forced our midfielders to go wide and give away spaces.

If our wingbacks cant cross, our help with a penetration that involved dribbling.
Then all our enemies will have to do, is secure the front door and man mark Diego to hold us down. We wont be able to use a targetman successful, because each and every attack, would predictably come through a pass from Diego.

The weak defense affects us in many areas and gave us little tactical options.
We will be forced to become predictable, because of that.
We will be forced to compromise tactics and plans that would have an optimal efficiency against a given opponent/moment.
We will be forced to sacrifice the use of players, who doesnt comply to the restricted tactical plan, that is necessary to sustain a weak defense!

No matter if this issue is observed by the fans or not.
It does affects our team a great deal!! And it is essential to fix it asap!!

An exp coach, could easily see that and avoid that by making the necessary upgrades.
But unfortunately, Gigli and Secco are not able to see that. And even worse, they want to make the decision, instead of a trained eye.
Thats why they wont a cheap and unknown coach, that can be manipulated.
Our funds are limited and we cannot afford to buy, both eye candies and the players we need!
Our boards priority is to make an offensive team, impressive to watch!
Thats why they are buying expensive forwards and also bought Diego.
They dont realize our needs. They dont respect our needs. They are not thinking ahead. They only want some quick fixes.
As long as the fans are fooled, they will continue to do so...

As long as the fans are pleased with Dagostinos and dont mind the Molinaros/Grygeras, they will not be forced to change...

As long as we are ignoring our main problem, we will be keep wasting funds and years...

Is approaching the day of truth for the future of the Roma Luciano Spalletti. Tomorrow the coach (increasingly the focus of the Juventus) will speak with the president Rosella Sensi finally to dissolve the doubts about his stay in Trigoria. The coach is still linked to Rome by two years of contract but, in recent weeks, did not appear to be more convinced to stay in giallorosso. Now things seem to change, Friday from Totti and De Rossi received confirmation that his team still, and this aspect has an important role in the decision. But positive signs he had also by the leadership. Rosella Sensi is willing to listen to the reasons that led Spalletti to have doubts about his stay at Rome, concerning organizational issues rather than technical.
The coach does not seek confirmation on the value of the team but solutions to some stories that relate to corporate organizations (roles clear, this has made reference several times Spalletti), and also the structure of the sports center which has also spoken repeatedly in the press conference.
Meanwhile there is Juventus who continues to press. The rumors coming from Turin Spalletti damage in pole for the Bianconeri bench, and the latest indications coming from the capital would give the coach more convinced to stay at the head of a team that has lifted so many satisfactions. Even for a desire for redemption after the difficult year just past, and because the group Spalletti has a good relationship.

We all knew our fullbacks sucked. I only read praise toward Legro on how he's a changed man and how Chiellini is one of the best CB's in the world or you said otherwise?

Read some rumours also on Stampa and sports.it,that Spalletti is in pole position to the job,and he will bring Amantino Mancini with him to Juve.
