Humiliated in the CL, humilated against Bari and losing to the worst team in the league at home, and he still gets to continue? Damn that Ciro is a lucky man.

They appoint him as a coach to get the Guardiola effect, when that doesn't work they don't fire him after cuz they're now waiting for the Leonardo effect. Copycats..

Honestly, after yesterday's performance it is obvious that THE WHOLE TEAM is to blame, from the management to the players.

We, include myself, have been blaming Ferrara for everything but in reality we don't know how the training grounds are going. I am not saying he is not to be blamed, but I think the depth of the problem goes beyond Ferrara.

Look at the players in the Catania game. Even without a coach we should have been able to beat them..

Our squad contained: Cannavaro (Italy's Captain), Grosso (Italy first 11), Legro (Italy Sub), Marchisio (Italy rotation and soon starting 11), Melo (Brazil starting 11), Diego, Trezeguet (most lethal player in the world, and should be starting 11 France), Amauri (when on form a very lethal striker).
Then we had 3 subs:
Salihamidzic (Bosnea captain I think).
Del Piero (Football legend)
Giovinco (Huge talent)

And 67% of the remaining players; Tiago, Manninger, Caceras, are better than Catania's.

If catania's game was an isolated incident, then its ok since these things happen in football. But not when we've just lost Bari the week before, and not when it is kind of the only trophy we are competing for and not when we are playing home.

Catania's players are poor (in comparison) and its not like they have the most intelligent coach in the world.. They lost 5/5 of their games prior to ours. So players alone without a coach should have atleast got out with a draw not loose to Catania.

We should be able to defeat Catania at home with out second line of players.

isn't the Catania game just the point
we do have excellent players but a crap team and that's exactly what a coach is supposed to do
I'm not blaming Ciro for everything, I'm sure things go wrong at all levels of the club but it's his responsibility to make a winning team and that won't happen with our current coach

As I said, Ciro is to blame. But so are the players. The players are not showing fighting spirit. When they showed it we defeated Inter. We give away the ball to easy. We do not concentrate enough.. We concede stupid penalties, "TIAGO"..
Sometimes there are so much you can do as a coach, but it all goes down to the players on the field. After Catania's game I honestly doubt if a better coach would improve the situation dramatically.

The reason why the team is playing poor might be a psychological issue.
We lost some points already before, but after the Inter match, one would think it was supposed to be the turning point. NOW though, it looks, it was just a fluke win.

Point i am trying to say is that, after the Inter game, we are eliminated in a humiliating fashion from CL football.

You really think the players and the team will just think, "oh big deal, lets move on". Especially as draw was enough to go through.

And dont come with the "they are professionals" talks, they are also humans, and i am def thinking that the mood in the camp after the early CL exit has changed a lot.

That alone can affect the performance.

Obviously a good coach can lift players and change things. Ciro isnt one of those. And that makes me question, how much the players actually listen him? Considering what i am seeing on the pitch (no game plan, bad tactics, bad moves, no improvement signs), its either players dont listen to Ciro, or what Ciro tells them is total BS.

Oh and just for a side note. If certain players f--k up (Melo being criticised often in these forums lately) then its up to coach to do something about it. Either "punish" the player by putting him to bench, or give him extra tasks in training.

Too many people are being nice with Ciro and criticising the "whole" thing. Who cares what Blanc does in his office. Is Blanc the one who makes the team play?

In the end what matters is the football what is being played, and currently we are playing some sh-tty football.

I will criticise the board for giving Ciro those 2 extra games, because Milan game at home, is again one of those games, like Inter, where a team can win the game by fluke. Lets remember that emotions pay a big part in games like these.

Ciro has showed me enough to get him replaced. Right now, would be the perfect time, so the new coach (hopefully Hiddink) can have his time to settle in.

Now if we fail in those 2 games, Hiddink or who ever else comes in, will only have 1 week to prepare. Right NOW was the perfect time.

Out board have to chose new coach now, give him some time (2.5 weeks of rest right now), opportunity to operate in transfer window and so on.
Waiting for 2 more games with Ciro can kill us :(

This season is dead to me, ok we can still technically win 3 trophies but since we went out of the CL i've really lost interest.

It reminds me of the end of last season when I couldn't even be bothered watching our games anymore because we were that bad.

I missed the Catania game because I went to see Paul McCartney and when I seen the score I just started laughing.

This is not my Juve at all.

Marcello Lippi Rules Out Juventus Return After World Cup

After the World Cup, I will not return to Juventus," the 61-year-old stated to Sky Sports 24. "I am not a puppet of the team.

"I have simply given some tips to the directors, saying that [current coach Ciro] Ferrara is an excellent coach, and endorsing [Fabio] Cannavaro and [Fabio] Grosso as good acquisitions.

"Ciro has made some errors, but that is because of his age, but has the right personality and charisma to do really well.

"He also has some clear ideas,"
Lippi added.

Its from goal but still.

Rather happy to see such news to be honest.
I'm not really because...

...

"I have simply given some tips to the directors, saying that [current coach Ciro] Ferrara is an excellent coach, and endorsing [Fabio] Cannavaro and [Fabio] Grosso as good acquisitions.

This bit means he can continue to "recommend" signings like he did with Grosso and Cannavaro but he holds no responsibility for how they or the team performs.

The board are truly just a bunch of idiots. If they never seriously lined up potential replacements for Ciro after the string of these results, that means they are not thinking ahead or have a plan B. That's very worrysome.

While folks here wish for another loss to get Ciro out, he still might not get fired or resign if we lose against Milan. Either way, the season is shot to hell anyway, and all we can hope for is securing the Champions League spot for next year. I do not believe it is wise to "wish" for the club to achieve horrendous results because the dunderheads in charge obviously have no clue what they're doing, so all this negativity might actually contribute to our own downfall as a club. It's extremely important now to keep a level head and still support the team as a whole, letting the pieces fall as they may. There is no guarantee we will get a new, and proper, manager as it is.

Also, the pathetic rumors propagated by some folks around the world were thankfully dismissed. Diego does not drink, Melo does not want out of the club, et cetera. Anybody with a working brain knows that those sort of Brazilian "party" rumors are the most commonly propagated gossip slander against them, and only works in a few cases. It was obvious at the get-go that these rumors against Diego and Melo were false, but people still bought into them. Shame on you. And shame on you morons for acting as a catalyst for this stuff.

Turn the hate down towards the new foreign players, give them a proper chance, do not insult Ciro as a man however poor of a man-manager he is, and keep a level head during these times. If we want a new beginning to the club, think logically and call for the heads of the people who made all these poor decisions in the first place.

Juve offer Ferrara ultimatum

Monday 21 December, 2009

After an extraordinary meeting held in Turin the Juventus board have handed Ciro Ferrara an ultimatum.

Rumours following the meeting revealed that the Bianconeri boss will have two more games to prove his worth.

That means if the Old Lady lose against Milan his chance to remain in charge until June will be incredibly slim as the directors were split over his future.

The directors also discussed potential successors to Ferrara and Guus Hiddink remains the main candidate to the job.

Furthermore, the appointment of ex-director Roberto Bettega is close to being announced. Bettega will work in the backroom and will support struggling sporting director Alessio Secco as well as dealing with the dressing room issues.

There were also talks about potential transfers during the five-hour meeting but nothing was revealed regarding those issue.
so, he gets to lose us 6 more points before they fire his ass....and Bettega is basically going to do SUCKO'S job ??!!!

This has become a fucking circus, we are the laughing stock of Italian football

Get rid of SUCKO, and let Bettega run the transfers

Get rid of BLANK, and replace him with Andrea Agnelli

Get rid of ZERO, and sign Hiddink

how difficult are these decisions ???
