Fryer of the PTWC said that the Tsunami was smaller and weaker than expected. Good news for Hawaii. The oscillations of sea level are still large enough to continue the Tsunami warning.

That was awesome. I wish more people on TV will call people idiots when they see them.
Well, maybe the beach goer is a Tsunami specialist and knew it would be a nothing burger. :p

But now some folks will of course call the scientists at the PTWC the boy who cried wolf even though all the data suggested a more powerful impulse. It will be interesting to see what their research on this event will provide in terms of answers as to what went "wrong" with the Tsunami.

The death tally of the earthquake so far is 214. 33 aftershocks are reported, with the most powerful one measuring 6.9.

Hawaiians given all clear to return to their daily life, while keeping an eye on TV and/or an ear on Radio...Or they can just stay on cyber.

Whatever suits them best..

I am not having a go man, but why does this interest you so much? Do you do geographies at school/uni or just personal interest?
Dude its an exceptional case, this earthquake is the 5th strongest earthquake in the last century! And we're not even one month away from that Haiti quake...

If you're not interested in such an important worldwide issue I dont know what will attract your attention.


And yes, its a pure personal interest.
